Thanks for asking DARK TEMPLAR; well, apart from that the life has intervened at some degree as of family health matters and job commitments and forced a sort of tea-break from the ongoing work, current stage of the works is that the patch is on its initial testing phase and I'm doing some reworking on the "Pripyat Snipers Alley" stage of the game. Partly, due to the too much memory demands of the game on that stage, it had come to my attention that some elements had not been initiating on "all PC setups" and now changing the activations of jobs by different ways also with fall-back secondary measures. rest of the patch is almost complete.

Just after its completion, I will start working on a new version of the mod, "big overhaul with new things." This work has also been continuing alongside the initial patch which will come first.

I think, if all goes to the plan, I'm hoping that I can get back from the "tea-break" next month and double the efforts. :)

As long as all is well, take your time, there is plenty to do keep ones self occupied til then.

Too bad that there is no simple way to bypass the memory issues stemming from the 32bit game engine.

Odd, I've only had problems with CS and CoP on 7, ShoC has run fine.

Does it give a 'cannot open fsgame.ini' error or something similar?

Hi fiznerpin1962, great to see you back on the game and on the forum. :mozilla_smile: 6-Cores AMD and 12-Gig RAM, hey, that's a pure behemoth, great B-)

well, coming to the core of your question, answer of which may actually be related to the "cores," or in other words, the number of the cores. As an Intel kind of guy, I'm not quite an expert on AMD CPUs like you, but just offering a guess here, I'm thinking that the game may not be responding well to the 6 cores; considering that STALKER had difficulties with 2-Core CPUs as well. Interestingly though, it performed better on Quad Cores under Windows 7. So, another set of cores may be just another step on this ladder. Have you tried to run the game on 4 Cores?

As I haven't noticed much info about the problem on your post, in regard to if it fires up then stalls, or it doesn't even respond when the exe is clicked, it's much of a guess work, but I can also recommend that you install the OpenAL from Creative Laps, if you haven't done so.

Also, if the game fires up then stalls, then you may try to play around the "lighting" options on the menu, going through the usual options of Full Dynamic Lighting, Static Lighting, and Object Dynamic Lighting.

If you could give a bit more detail on the problem, we may quite probably find a solution when we put our thinking hats :mozilla_smile:

Well, since it was CS and If it was an 'cannot open fsgame.ltx' or something like that, then the solution should be the fallowing ... well a workaround at least, being the lazy bastard I am, I never bothered to look for anything else. However since you say you have it through steam :-??
* Open up notepad.
* Type start bin\xrengine.
* Save that as a .bat file in the base SCS folder
