Bummer about Extreme's codes; I'm pretty sure I know how to find the codes based on the spoilers you guys put in the posts, but I can't even get the basic no-nothing version to run without getting motion sickness*, so I'll have to take it in small doses. Very good graphics even on DX8. Nice approach to giving out the codes,
Nightwatch!
The uncommented Ogg files are a bit frustrating; with no drop-off in sound distance, Petruha hears something to the south (the boars?) and before you know it, the military is attacking the rookies. This does explain the myriad posts about this event in the big mods, versus vanilla.
I like the military NPCs searching me out, though. And that's a cool BTR/APC bullet impact effect. Was the heli supposed to buy it in an anomaly in the Cordon?
I'm also a bit disconcerted about all the possible choices in dialogs, some with machine-translated text, some with placeholder ID tags, some disappearing as I try to read. It intrigues me that choices matter more (e.g., the very first artifact task for Sid
nets different loadouts from him AND Wolf -- including a detector!).
After the install, I found that there are a couple of knives with "visua" instead of "visual" in the section definitions in
config\weapons\w_knife.ltx. They might not be used, but they might still be parsed. I wonder if I can get the LTX checker to run on these files...
Finally, my first car experience in this mod was not good -- the rookie camp's relic (SW corner lot) lets you in, but not out. The BTR worked, so something's funky about that "Christine"!
Those are bullet holes on invisible walls. They "move" relative to the background, but you will find that you cannot pass through them. Pripyat is not a very polished level.

*STALKER is pretty good at matching frame rate to motion; if there is what is called "mouse lag", I have a problem even when the frame rate is high. Monolith games are bad for me; I loved NOLF2 but it made me really sick even at 45-60 FPS.
STALKER works for me down to 30 FPS, and even lower. But the mouse lag present in the bigger mods is not good.
