I've seen a lot of football matches in my life, but this was one of the weirdest for sure England scored "nil" goals, but managed to win the match 2-1!
That's a puzzle for those who hasn't watched the match, or read about it.

As I said, even when we play badly we still win Overall I think we have a better chance than other times. I'd guess we are prob 4th-5th fav to win. Be as negative as you want, a world ranking of 4th (Elo, not the messed up fifa ranking) says England are a pretty damn good team.

I found it hard to "get into" a game where the teams might play for 2 hours just to get a 0 - 0 tie.
I like a passing game where the lead might go back & forth.

90 minutes. If the game goes 2 hours thats extra time and if its still all square its a penalty shootout. If after 5 penalties theres still no winner its sudden death. First person to have their shot saved or miss and the other team has already scored or goes on to score, wins.

Hey, Rock, I know it sounds like a puzzle, which it is. England played against Japan (soccer match) as a preparation match prior to the World Cup, well, One of the Japanese players scored goal against England, that's 1-0, well, but then he scored another goal against his own team, too (by mistakenly sending the ball through his own goalpost while trying to send the ball away! _I think they'll beat him bad in Japan, lol ) Then, another Japanese player, I think trying to show that he was not less able than the other guy to get into the headlines) scored another goal to his team, beating successfully his own goalkeeper, lol, again.

That's true as well. Football games (soccer games) need to produce more goals. Current rules are too restrictive in gameplay, they may need to be changed to allow more "attack" type gameplay.

England has a very different mentality and outlook this tournament, no talking themselves up, just "we are going to go out there and give it all we got" a fresh, focused mentality under Capello. We played our last warmup game today and beat the local team 3-0. As good as it gets for England in friendlies because we all know England just can't be arsed in those games. Its not a bad squad, but fabio has got it wrong in some key areas. Emile Heskey is a sack of shit and shouldn't be there, Darren Bent should be. Ashley Young should of been chosen ahead of Wright-Phillips, Jamie Carragher shouldn't be in the squad and Curtis Davies should be, Andy Jhonson should be in the squad, possibly over Michael Carrick, and Joe Hart should be our no.1 keeper, but it'll be given to Jamo, AKA David James, AKA "Calamity James".

That sure is an understatement. I sort of support the team that he is in... And I can honest say that it be a big miracle if a ball goes in any net with the ball hitting him last. How on earth he keeps getting into the England squad is beyond me.
