Hmm, certainly needs to be officially verified. As many elements (structural, financial, legal) involved in these kind of things, a straight answer is not always so easily obtainable. Dissolving a company not a so-easy-job, takes time, a single man can hardly do that in most of the times. We'll see.

Increasingly it seems like it is true after all, but I still would like to use some caution.

If true, though now increasingly it seems so, then it's really too bad. But, I'm sure the Devs will of course continue to create other masterpieces under whatever company name it may be. They are alive and it's all that matters. I wish them all the best, and look forward to see many new masterpieces in the future from them.

STALKER dev 'will do its best to continue'

Following the news and rumors on the subject, the Ukrainian developer GSC Game World released a brief update on the studio's status.
"We will do our best to continue," it said on the official STALKER Twitter account. "However, at this moment, nothing is certain."

I'm sure they will just do that, the DEVs will continue to create standard-bearer games, whether under the same business name or another, which is not so important.

As there has not been any change of situation in the last two weeks or so, it seems it is certain now that GSC has been closed down definitively, as you may already heard.

Sergiy Grygorovych, the founder of GSC Game World, He left in December 2011.
Developers team could not secure the rights of STALKER franchise. Finalizing this matter, they said on their tweets: "The issue was not a lack of funding. We were not able to secure the IP Property of Stalker and thus not able to continue with the franchise."

Another tweet talks about GSC servers: "Stalker servers and if they will remain online. However we do not know exactly for how long. Once we do, we will notify th[e community!"
