I don't think Nightwatch is interested in Clear Sky...soooo...
lets get him used to the idea of modding "Call Of Pripyat"!
Those large maps without too many mutants are a perfect
place for "firebites" and various other nasties.

i vote: nay.
reason: wait for new game and mod it until all SNOT is out. :P

i played a lot of CS and like most people i have talked to it was missing a little something.

with the exception of Faction War/Freeplay gaming for Clear Sky it would be a case of 'good money after bad' to invest big mod time into it. skipping ahead and using CoP (and STALKER 2 eventually) would be better. then use CS levels with the newer games' mods.

maybe the whole re-arranged Zone world map will be sitting there, dormant, in CoP??

sorry for the delay in answering you mate but work is being a bitch at the moment, 14 hour work days make for one tired player :-Q
I was eluding to the add on (suicidal/ultimate add on)
if one takes fiznerpin1962 suggestion about there being no NW weapons in the add on thats all well and good, hell I like a challenge as much as the next player but we would need something more than a AK 47 to bring down a chopper (any chopper, never mind the bitch of a thing in Garbage)

Agreed, Busetibi, chopper could ruin one's day without a way to take it down.

Shift3r has some good points as well, now that I think about it... I'm just looking for.....well...... perhaps the excitement & "adrenalin rush" of the totally unfamiliar. It has been quite a while. Played everything worth a shit out there ( Farcry 1 & 2/ the FEAR series/ all the call of duty series/ all the Crysis series/prey, etc.)
I NEED SOME NEW............something.

(don't get me wrong - NEWSA seriously ROCKS! - think I am just in a "rut")

Hey Guys, very good ideas, very nice to hear. :mozilla_smile:
If I've got it right, it seems fiznerpin1962, Audioave10 and Shift3r are meeting on the same line about CS or the new coming GSC mods. Actually I haven't played the CS, watched couple of clips and had the reviews of independent reviewers in the industry which in general did not give above average marks at the best, as far as the ones that reached me. So, CS has, from the start, been a bit of a "turn off" for me, I think it has been largely so for the many.
We currently have something like Faction Wars already in the mod, you can enter other factions and things do change for the character dramatically as the consequence of it.

I have two projects lined up currently, after these two initial ones:

1) North Jump+Pripyat Entry Spawn support. This patch will also offer some new music from, well, anybody who wants to offer their own music packs (any number of pieces, from one to many) and the first one seems is coming from DARK TEMPLAR. Everyone is invited to offer their selections.
This patch also changes the C-C room-to- outside of NPP Level Changing process (after the patch I sent to Audioave10) which will address the very minor issue seen on some PCs (so far only one), nevertheless, this change makes things smoother.
There will be a suit in Pripyat which is adequate for the extreme radiation in the area and beyond if the player chooses to go ahead with the North-Jump (Cordon-Pripyat) and comes back backwards. (then some rather interesting peculiarity in the missions offered will be seen of course, when coming back from Pripyat)

2) The new add-on to our current Extreme mode, with a preliminary title of Extreme++ (name is Wombat_70's idea)
In this, I will reduce the Medkit's values significantly more, we'll have significantly less ammo. I'll move the N134SP Mini-Chain gun from Borov and will be very difficult to get it. Auto shotgun is already very difficult to come by, anyway.
There will be some other cut-backs in many areas of course, as it's fashionable now along with the economic depression in the world. :mozilla_wink:
You will need FN2000NW-SPX because it'll be otherwise impossible to survive against choppers, but the ammo will be very very rare, so you'll have notmany chances to miss when you shoot. Choppers will have a tougher shield which will make it even harder. Somethings like those.

These two can be expected within a few weeks (the first one, North-Jump) then the EXtreme++ is after another a few weeks.

After these two projects:

1) I'm planning to insert a storyline into the Freeplay. I'm following the reports on theis issue and I see that Freeplay on some, quite a few, PCs are starting to cause slowing-downs due to the eventually accumulated all those data/variables/info on the game engine. The Engine, like all engines, have some limitations to the weights it can carry along. This is under consideration for a better management.

2) We have 3 levels from Clear Sky (as explained in previous posts) those are:
Hospital
Limanks
Red Forest


So, instead of we are going to the CS, the CS is somewhat coming to us, we can say.

However, I'm watching the news about this new game to be released: Call of Pripyat, and the news on that possible STALKER 2.
We will all use our accumulated expertise on those, as I hope and believe. There are many long exciting and always newly challenging playing days are ahead of us, as long as the top players and idea developers like yourselves do keep your interest. :salute:

Between the "New Levels" and some tweaks...Newsa will be
another mandatory playthrough. I'm most excited about the
New Levels!
I'm hoping for some "new modding efforts" for "Call Of Pripyat"
in early 2010. I hope you ..Nightwatch..are interested by then.
That's hoping "Call Of Pripyat" is a good game and I think it will
be (from what I've read so far).

I have started a new game and made it so 1 hour ingame = 1 hour in real life. It seems quite cool but it seems the rankings work exactly like that as they dont seem to increase. But this isn't a problem I can deal with that. Also so far only had one blowout which is that test thing one that the NPCs dont hide from.

I noticed a strange thing. I got the documents for barkeep and after all that I decided its time to see Seriy even though I didn't have a rocket launcher. I go into the Hangar and not one single loner was in there apart from a dead body and a few Bandits. I check my map and tasks and it says he was in Agro near Mole. I go there and he was there indeed helping the loners clean up the mess. So I speak to him and got my reward which I should of got in Garbage. Now here I was totally shocked, the helicopter that normally spawns in Garbage to kill you spawned in Agro! So I just managed to escape although Seriy wasnt as lucky. And I got back to the Bar and noticed more enemies have spawned and one of these monoliths have a rocket launcher! So it seems it all happens one after the other.

Will try and upload pictures and everything today as I have a few but im having too much fun :D

I don't know for sure Balious but this would go along with Fatraps theory of having a "good game load" when a new game is started just to square everything away with the game engine. My game yesterday, I get to Prypiat and sniper alley has NO SNIPERS! None. No resistance whatsoever all the way to the carpark. Just the APC and he was stuck against the wall where he starts so he was an easy kill. So, getting to the power plant was a breeze and at the plant, no choppers attacked me so I got in with the usual kills along the way.

Balious, yup, it sounds indeed interesting. In expected line of events, you should see Seriy first, (probably after the Bes event) then proceed with getting the documents for Barkeep (if it's the documents you're referring). When making things the way around, interesting new changes may occur, but it seems it was rather an interesting (even funny) experience :mozilla_smile:
It'd great if you could post those pictures when you've got time.

You have a Quad or Dual-core? Because I've noticed that on some systems Pripyat initial assault spawns quite late, though on my Quad system the same assault had spawned OK several times as I took the video as it is seen. Now, I'm trying to sort something out to speed up this spawn period and break the delay for all.

And I think I'm on right track to solve those late spawnings on initial assault stage on the way up North there, so you can try the entry to Pripyat once again later, taking shots at those monoliths sliding down the roofs. :mozilla_smile:

almost time to come back & finish endgame. Runnin' freeplay mod on CS..... not much happening - CS truly does leave a guy wanting, but gotta go with it (quitting BAD :-Q ) be back soon....

I've been back to every level and now I'm back in NPP. Had to pry the doors of the C dudes room but I left a lot of stuff I wanted to go back for LOL. Not much resistance so far.

Great. :thumbright: But don't forget to save in a proper place before you re-enter the NPP lab in Freeplay, as Grump642 had found the CC door closed when he revisited the section.


Now I changed the C-C room-to-outside Level Changer process, and I'll check that "C-C room entrance door," too, in order to make it remain open at all times. But these will come with the next patch (soon).
Included also Grump642's Groza-NT silencer shot sound file.
North-Jump is working fine. I'm testing the measures for removing the spawn delays seen in some PCs in Pripyat initial assault event.

Some new music is also welcomed. DARK TEMPLAR is expected to upload and link his music folder.

Off topic:

Just observations w/ Clear Sky vs. NEWSA. Jumped off NEWSA for some variety.... waste of time. From the massive delay searching bodies & going to inventory (NEWSA is bang, bang, done!) to the massive amount of AP rounds for everything! No challenge..... and freeplay had virtually nothing going on! The only high point of the whole experience was the textures/sounds from the mod I was using. Ceano did do a good job on the freeplay mod, just desolate levels.... Not knocking you, C - good effort!
This probably belongs in the CS thread, but I just need to give props on the awesome job the NEWSA/ Simbion tweaked team did! :-bd
Still - to this day - nothing compares!

I can get any door that is open-able open. No problem. They were both locked but once through, just walked down the hall and up the stairs and the level changer kicked in. I'm back to Prypiat now with another 21 of your FN2000NW-SPX .45cal and 4 more NITE 6 MLSP. At 130K rubles and 100K rubles respectively, I just had to go back LOL. Had a few Monolith spawn while I was there so it wasn't a completely boring trip. B-) Plus, as soon as I got there, I had only 3 minutes to get inside or be toast!
