Hey Rock, glad that you haven't found the return to NPP trip a waste of time.

(I couldn't reply sooner, sorry, my router had developed some problems. It has a built-in firewall and sometimes (though rarely) clashes with the software firewall on PC. Now back track again.)

Riight, so eeh, finaly figured out what the issue was(i was dumb enough not to check my upload limit per file), well anyways here they are(had to put it up in two pieces), I'm not so sure about a couple of the songs, so I may change them someday.

Thanks DARK TEMPLAR, I got the AVs, they are superb, :thumbright: Anyone can benefit from those avatars greatly, really.

I'm downloading the musics as well, :thumbright:
( my connection speed is crawling at the moment as I also download some Windows updates. etc, as well. But won't take longer.)

Newsa is the only game I have been playing in a while now and, sure it crashes a lot (particle manager mostly), but that just goes along with the territory of playing this extreme mod (remember how hard we all worked just to get it to play at all???). Anyway, I came in yesterday morning and had no boot manager. :( It was probably a combination of things but the added stress is hard on it I'm sure. After a repair, the pc just wouldn't respond so, complete reformat. I have it running again, however, all was lost but my saves. And some of those were FUBARRED to the point of starting a level over. I'll give her a rest, play some Diner Dash (LMAO....not in a million years) or Serious Sam far a bit. I built this computer just for gaming so I gots to play sumpin!

Sorry to hear your PC problems, rockingmtranch. I know how you feel when you are suddenly hit with a PC malfunction and on top of it, with the loss of saves. I could send you my saves as a complete set (as they'd carry all the settings and accumulated values, and a dissected part might not function on top of another game's saves) but my saves are in complete disarray as I've restarted many times with new all.spawns and I walked backwards from North once. So someone else may be more helpful with the saves, if you can't recover them as you'd like.
I know how stressful times those were when we had been struggling with the original SIMBION; those times. I haven't forgotten your help to me when introducing the game to me, or vice versa , and your help me in my desperate struggle to try to get the handles of the game, also helped to many others as well. :thumbright:

In this mod, particle manager has been under much more pressure since the version 2.0, with the introduction of new (and heavy) particles into the game. This is after all, an old game with an engine somewhat rushed through without fully polished ( I blame GSC business management and THQ for not allowing the developers required time and resources). Otherwise the engine in its logical sense is brilliant, but would have benefited greatly from more work done on it, if the developers had not been strangled.

Thanks DARK TEMPLAR  I'll get back to you on that.

Guys,
This damn Filefront deleted the setup again, they continuously complained that the file was too big and was causing enormous download stress, as it has been over 140 terabyte of download by now. I'm moving the NEWSA.SIMBION_Tweak download setup link to Rapidshare, on a paid account. (more money loss, but there isn't any other way as it seems) It seems it's not possible to find a free-host for a file that large and receives a reasonably good download interest.
I was not happy anyway with their offer of download speed to the people, their management and recent security issues as previously announced.

The completion of the new download link, which will also require me spend nearly 7 hours to upload the files, may take up to two days.

Thanks rockingmtranch and fiznerpin1962 for showing your flattering level of your, :salute:  which I have always counted on anyway (as I have counted on all our buddies here, ) but I would refrain from putting any PayPal button for a support of a download site if the site is hired with a paid account. I'll do everything possible to keep the costs to myself only even if it's for the costs of some necessary sites.
I could, at the worst case scenario , split the set up to pieces and upload them on various sites with smaller set up pieces. More work for me, but what needs to be done must be done in order to keep going; well, having said that, I've re-compressed the setup (which was already highly comressed anyway) in to a 7-zip ultra compression folder, which reduced the download folder to 290 Mb, which is just within the limits of a few other file hosting/download sites. I'm checking if this double layer ultra level compression has caused any corruption with the files. If all id OK, then then I'll upload that newly higher compressed setup to other sites first, and see how they take the file size/download load on their servers.

Btw, thanks for the pictures fiznerpin1962
PS: if the AW-red Forest LC has glitched, you can of course use the Brain Scorcher LC (next to the complex) to get back to Yantar, or the LC inside the bunker on the slip road before the the sniper position, which can take you to Dark Valley.

Hey Ultradad, sorry to hear your health problems. I hope nothing is serious and you've been on track of full recovery.
And, thanks for your gracious offer of using your own account with Rapidshare to upload the mod. :thumbright: I have now managed to compress the setup even further without any loss (checked so) and it's now 287Mb as a download file. I have currently put it on two free servers, being just under 300Mb limit now, but the attitudes of free hosts are known (I can't blame them too much, anyway). Therefore, I'd be more than happy and grateful in accepting your offer :salute:  it would be really great if it turns out to be possible to upload it on your Rapidshare account as well, (if it is doable and as long as it is manageable for you to keep it there without causing you any trouble at all) because at any time one of these free hosts may pull the plug again.

On NEWSA site (gamerspedia.net) the download icon link now goes to a new page which contains the download links. You can download the newly higher compressed setup and upload it on your account, if no unforeseen obstacles arise on your path, then you can give me the link and I can put it on the web as another download link as well.
But, as I know that this kind of downloading/uploading operation is a long and tiresome one, that's way, I wouldn't like it to hurt your health, so please do not force yourself. you can do it anytime as you wish.

Hello there :thumbright:

I dont think you have made any new changes to newsa apart from compressing it down a bit so as i had already got it on my pc i have compressed it a bit and cut it into 3 pieces at 100mg each and i am uploading it now, about 15 mins a piece so should have the links for you in a hour :thumbright: .

All i need to do is down load your inventory fix and upload that as well so it shouldnt be long nightwatch :salute:

If you have made any adjustment i will redown load it from your links then reupload it so its no problem. Lets get this mod out to the people, let the carnage begin :ymdevil:

Just got the links, buddy, thanks, Ultradad. :thumbright: Great help indeed. :-bd it must've taken a great deal of your time, to separate the main folder, upload, download and test. But this way, you've made it sure that it's downloading (and installing) smoothly. :thumbright:

I have not implemented any of the changes that I've been making now. I'm expecting in a week or two, I'll have tested and concluded this Pripyat late spawn support thingy, so all PCs can have a quick spawn of initial Pripyat assault. Together with it, the "North-Jump" feature and a few small tweaks will come. But these new things will not require the main setup to be re-run, they'll come with a small patch.

EDIT: OK, I've added the RapidShare links, too. Thanks.

Hello there :thumbright:

While catching up on a few pages of stuff i liked the idea of trying to get through this game with only a hand gun :ymdevil: . It was a hard going for a bit, i keep going for the old shotgun :)) but i think i am starting to get the hand of it

http://i476.photobucket.com/albums/rr127/Ultradad2008/Gettingusedtohandgunnow.jpg

Got a bit easier when i got the newsa handgun :D and picked up around 3000+ bullets, i feel a bit safer now :thumbright:

http://i476.photobucket.com/albums/rr127/Ultradad2008/3200bulletcomfortzone.jpg

Got spanked alot by helicopter in garbage nothing new there and had to grenade the bloody APC to get past. Maybe you can put a handgun with a grenade launcher attachment in the new extreme handgun mod =))

Onway back to see sid, sell some kit and sneak back through garbage trying to avoid that dam helicopter :D

Yup. :thumbright: .45 ACP for most of it, BUT: gotta have a contingency plan.... ie: Firebites, mega-horror times (those damn zombies just won't go down! - or stay put! #:-s ) or shots requiring a bit of "long tube" (distance).
