THANK YOU ALL GUYS :salute: :D for your get-well wishes.

This Tamiflu is a great medicine. It was when I had started having quick and shallow breathing, and sudden serious dizziness in addition to all those flu symptoms on last Thursday, I called the emergency pandemic line. I was diagnosed and issued with Tamiflu within an hour, and another hour later after taking the first tablet I had started feeling the effect of the medicine.
Now sitting at home as I was told not to go out -as they tell everyone who has the flu- not to spread the flu and trying to recuperate. Going well. Thanks for all the good wishes. :D
This has of course delayed the patch, but will continue working on it as soon as possible.

Nightwatch...are you still working on a new mod with added levels?
If so, will it be a few months away? Can you give us an estimate yet?
Yes...lots of questions. :D

Thanks guys for asking  After some health and family matters, I'm now again on the patch, making the final touches. Some technical improvements and a North-jump function available. Then the Xtreme++ (current working title) version will come.

Adding additional levels is the third stage of the planned works, which I'll try to deal as soon as after the first two releases (patch and the added version) , speed depends of course what life throws at.

..................

(PS: although this mod a niche one aimed mostly for hard-core FPS players, not for the more general SoC player base, latest numbers show that (all currently active download account links, and plus now closed Filefront download account numbers) we have just hit the 2000 downloads. (2014 to be precise today) There are still quite few hard-core players around as it seems. )

OK, it seems there has something gone wrong within the files, possibly a contamination -that is if you haven't merged this mod with another mod or made any alterations on it, because it points a problem developing in the original files.
I'd suggest that you re-install the mod by double-clicking on the installer after deleting the current whole gamedata folder and chose same current "mode of play" e.g. if it is now "Extreme" or Non-Horror" or any other. In that case, all the save-games you have will continue to work. It should then work fine. Thanks.

[While on the subject, an additional info on this specific mod (does not mean it has been done so; given just as an info)
This mod is not compatible with any other mods, however tiny ones that might be, and is extremely sensitive to any alteration made. similar adjustments made in other mods, can affect things very severely here, as the mods cross checks many (seeming unexpected by the player) other files, scripts, xml, and ltx.]

I was runnin' a fresh install of the mod. Are there any releases more recent than 3.0? Because alot of the text is in Russian and broken English. (Excluding the vanilla dialogues, i.e the bonus content is mostly in Russian + broken English) And I'm pretty sure my version is 1.04. And by fresh install, I'm talking, I had just ran the unzipper and cleared the previous gamedata from the folder not half an hour before I got this CTD. :/

Only very minimal Russian text, as scattered words are still can be seen, that's not a lot, considering the 9Mb text file -for information: a hardback commercial book is about 1-2 Mb size. That should make a comparison.

Secondly, from the error report it is definitive that there is some change in the original file. Ho that has happened, I cannot know, as the computer on which the mod is installed is your computer and it'll be very difficult to guess what is happening on that part. I only can guess that, provided that you have not made "any" alterations whatsoever, including the ones that "everyone can easily do it in all mods" because this mods does not quite accept changes. But the matter is, there is happening a change in the original file and the game is complaining about it.

Please check your installation, it may be getting corrupted during installation, due to very many reasons which would be difficult to speculate. Some other software may be damaging the installation, e.g., if you are using any cracks (I am only worried on their technical affects) on STALKER (and in fact on any other software) they are liable to cause unexpected behavioral patters on various software which may not be directly connected.

Also, you say that you've unzipped the zipped file and half an hour later got the crash. I think you mean (and you should) that you installed the mod "by double clicking on the installer that comes out of this zipped file?"

I hope you haven't downloaded the original old (or the new edition) SIMBION and mixed it with other texts, as this mod is different than SIMBION and any text file from any (even ingredient) mods do not work on this.

Nope. I had used the installer. I unzziped it to a mods folder I made called NEWSA+SIMBION_tweaked and then I had cleared the gamedata from my stalker folder, and dragged it over. My game is cracked because I took the files from one of my homies. I'll remove the crack and see if I can still play. I haven't touched the gamedata file one bit. By fresh, I really mean it's a fresh install.

I might go download the installer again seeing as I downloaded this one quite awhile ago and something could have happened. And I'm pretty sure I'm using 3.0, not an older version. I'll try again after I get home from school today and see if downloading another installer fixes it. :/

You mean you ran the installer (after unzipping the downloaded zipped folder) and installed the mod into a folder you named NEWSA.SIMBION_Tweak, then you dragged the contents into the (cleaned) STALKER gamedata folder?
I'm just guessing, but there it's also another possibility that this dragging/dropping process may not be quite working, considering the sheer size and complexity of the mod, over 830Mb of mixed files.

try installing the the mod by running the installer and (if your game folder is not default C drive STALKER folder) pointing the STALKER directory. The installer will create a gamedata folder if the directory does not have one. Please follow the installation instruction given in detail on the Mod's website.

After removing the crack, I'd expect you should have improvements, (those things, some work good some damage your PC, as far I've heard, you know) but it might have damaged the engine at some extent already, so, even for a test, try to find a retail copy installed PC from your friends and test it.
Hope things get better.

Hey Nightwatch! Had a chance to play Newsa( second run-thru) on my new rig this past weekend. WOW! Areas where we get large piles of bodies that used to kill my fps, now just seem to cause a small hesitation and then runs fine. 64bit seems to cause no bad effects at all. I even noticed a new anomaly, kind of a vortex thing. No problems with delayed spawns, that I have noticed.
On another note, I even saved the stupid Eco dude after 2 tries! First time he went running off into the base and died pretty quick. I sure couldn't follow him. Second time, I saved him. Finally saw what you meant about a different outcome! You are VERY sneaky!! :-bd

Thanks Grump642 :D So you've got the "grand finale" there. :mozilla_wink: =D>

Also, it seems, 64 bit OS works OK for STALKER. That's good to know. Because, I've just changed my OS (upgraded?) to the 64 bit version of Vista --I know... yet again. :D This is the third time, some of my programs did not allow a good performance in previous attempts, but now, before the Windows 7 installation I wanted to go to 64 bit again. I haven'tt yet chance to run STALKER yet on this new installation.

But it's great news that the chronic STALKER stutter has almost disappeared, and no delayed spawns. Great. Thansks for letting us know.
Enjoy the rest of the game. I'll be releasing a patch soon, some technical improvements and a "North-Jump" feature in which the players can jump to Pripyat from Cordon and play the game -in a kind of- backwards. For those who played it before, it may be interesting, in a kind of "mission filled freeplay way."

I need to run the patch fully though before releasing it, so it's good to hear that 64 bit plays even better.

I suspect it has a lot to do with memory. Both the 1Gig of ddr5 vram and 6 Gig of 1750Mhz system memory. But whatever, it is playing very well. If only I had more time to play right now?
