Hey Nightwatch... something I sent to a couple of guys on GSC...

This is a link to a few CS textures, including proper bumpmaps for the monolith and freedom light suits. You may want to use them in the next patch, let me know if you don't know how to assign them in the textures.ltx....

I'm pretty sure this would not be a problem for GSC, but remove this post if your worried.... after downloading the file :tongue:

Thanks EggChen, I'm downloading it now as we speak.
I might've missed the point, but I can't see the reason why GSC should possibly be upset about this, they haven't forbidden the modding work yet, have they? :)

On another note:
I have added your "water textures" into this coming patch. Another great work, as always. Thanks. :thumbright:

No, I don't think they would have an issue, my only concern was that this is using CS textures in SHOC, but I doubt they have a problem as I say.

You may want to check out the CS asphalt in that pack as well, much better than SHOC.

I don't think they'll have an issue about it.
I'll check everything and the asphalt tomorrow; better to do it with a fresh mind. Today was absolutely hectic on job front. :)

lol, they are kind of bothersome but they're also a walking ammo chest,
:thumbleft:

this is just before I jumped into the final teleport to take me out of Stancia 2 (on the roof where a mass of them spawn in)
I worked it out, 6 million RU sitting on the roof but I couldn't carry them all, so no money/trade, got heaps of ammo out of them though.

I hear you. (just had to vent, though) I don't myself know how many weapons I left behind - but it was a LOT. Have a lot waiting @ the secret stash room though. :thumbleft:
It's all good - in freeplay as of 11ishPM central time :salute:

I wish you luck, now the fighting/action starts,
do you have any kind of plan for freeplay or are you going to roam all the maps?

I was thinking either duty or freedom... bartender has more/better stuff, so probably duty. Or loner. Or freedom. Or loner. shit. :scratch:

I ran skinflint out of money:

I also got a serious amount of action on the way back to the scorcher changer (and some good stuff!) :

OK....bring it! :rr:

Why does everyone carry so much crap?, all i carry is, Main Weapon (Varies), Pistol (Nightwatch Desert Eagle mostly), a Backup Rifle (Sometimes), Sleeping bag, Small stash of nades, 1-2 flares, and bandages and medkits and some food.

About 50-70kg of stuff. :D

I once turned against everybody in the zone, fiznerpin1962; well, it was one of those things, on ething led to another and I found myself enemy for everybody. It was like wild-west, from loners to duty, freedom was after me, not to mention those bandits, military, merc.:)

FN2000NW SPX is very expensive, and when you try to sell six of them to Skinflint, he seem to have files for Chapter 11 :) Well, very fashionable nowadays, ;) you can't blame the guy. :D

__________

EggChen, sorry, buddy, I still couldn't unzip the armor textures. i'm completely wasted today, come at 9 pm, what a day (was not holiday :) ) I'll open it late tonight. :)

DarkTemplar - You don't need to assign the water textures, just copy them into the folder.

Nightwatch is referring to some other textures I sent him from CS, the assignment is done, so they should be in the next patch.

However assignment is easy, look in the textures folder and you will see a textures.ltx.

If you want to assign a different bumpmap to a texture, find the texture. Lets say your adding a proper bumpmap for act_monolit, you will find it currently uses the Duty bumpmap :

Code: Select all
act\act_monolit = bump_mode[use:act\act_stalker_black_bump], material[0.50]

So you just change that to your new bumpmap :

Code: Select all
act\act_stalker = bump_mode[use:act\act_monolit_bump], material[0.50]

Don't worry about the "bump#" file, that is done automatically as long as the name is the same as the normal "bump" file.

You then need to add your bumpmap to the list of textures and specify its type, keep searching for act_monolit and you will find :

Code: Select all
act\act_monolit = 0

Underneath that add in your new bumpmap :

Code: Select all
act\act_monolit = 0
act\act_monolit_bump = 2

0 = normal texture, 2 = bumpmap

Its the same for any other texture you add to a game, so if you add a unique skin for a weapon, you should create a new entry for that texture pointing at the existing weapons bumpmap.

Edit: DT, I forgot I still have the ltx I did for Nightwatch, so will e-mail it to you.

Patch is getting bigger. :)

DARK TEMPLAR

I didn't see your edit on the above post earlier. OK, the scope textures are rather straightforward.
First, basically two add-on scopes with different crosshair textures:
wpn_addon_scope and wpn_addon_scope_susat. They are in config\weapons\weapons.ltx (at the bottom) They are for those weapons on which you can put scopes.

[wpn_addon_scope]
scope_texture = wpn\wpn_crosshair
scope_zoom_factor = 30

and

[wpn_addon_scope_susat]
scope_texture = wpn\wpn_crosshair_l85
scope_zoom_factor = 30

When scope zoom factors are decreased (smaller umbres applied) you see further ahead. Factor 15 is more powerful than factor 30, for example.

Some weapons that has inbuilt scopes use scope textures like this as in G36 example:

wpn_g36
scope_texture = wpn\wpn_crosshair_g36

Others, as in AK74, can use scope_name which points to the scope:

wpn_ak74
scope_name = wpn_addon_scope

(in this case, the add-on scope comes with its pre-assigned scope texture, which is wpn\wpn\wpn_crosshair)

another scope texture is (RPG uses it)
scope_texture = wpn\wpn_crosshair_rpg

Vintorez:scope_texture = wpn\wpn_crosshair

SVD Sniper Rifle:
scope_texture = wpn\wpn_crosshair

You can check the scope textures of the weapons whose scope textures you like, going in this manner. :)

-------
BTW:

Their texture files, as DDS files, are in the textures\wpn under their own names as given above. :)
