OK, yah hooked me! I just got back to this thread from a quick 'net buying spree to get the CD version of SoC so I could play 1.0004 and your mod. :-bd

After some additional thought I've decided to change some maps (I'm fussy I know :p ) So, the levels I'll be attempting to slot in are;

Limansk
Lost Village
Railroad
Swamp
Red Forest
Warlab
Darkscape (if any dev map exists to build on)

Allow me to explain a little. TK isn't "my" vision of what SoC should of been, but rather best to my knowledge based on videos and screenshots, what the devs wanted to do for SoC. So my imagination I try to limit and end up pulling out what the devs wanted.

That idea sounds nice.


On that ctd thing, I think it was just x-ray acting up(forgot to save log), as I got a second similar crash which was due to nod av notification, altho I'm not certain I'm pretty sure it was that as I haven't encountered any other problems

@ templar; hasn't anyone told you playing games with a antivirus active is generally a bad idea? :p Most games just don't like them, unless their really cool like AVG and have a built in game mode so it doesn't mess with games.

I know that but usualy it's fine, no problems, just that my internet is currently down in my laptop and Nod av had a issue with that wanting to connect to the update server and sht and x-ray doesn't take too well to that kind of stuff for some reason.

Its X-Ray.. It doen't take too kindly to being launched, nevermind anything else :p Anyone want to help with all the level work I'll be doing? Need to find some time to inject all the missing mutants. Not sure how long it'll take editing all.spawn, but at least its easy work.

I would help but I have no idea how to do level stuff, STALKER isn't installed and my mind is on Metro 2033 and my story.

Played Twilight KET through Cordon tonight. Whilst trying to figure out where a stash was in the mill just south of the bridge, some stalkers came through and wiped out the military. In the loot they left behind was a near-new AK, plus some worn AK with scopes and a grenade launcher.

If only ammo wasn't so dear I'd be surely set nicely for Agoroprom! Loners turning red and bandits yellow for no apparent reason has me on my toes!

Emerging from Agoroprom underground was... disturbing. I won't say more so as to not spoil it for first-time players. I WILL say that Speznaz are mean AND tough - they weren't the disturbing thing.

ket, remember that my current rig is far below anything considered "minimum" these days, but just to relate a couple of observations:

I must exit to windows, then load up again after every level change. No disk access is happening, but within 5-60 seconds after entering from a level changer the frame rate drops to near zero. Exit and reload, voila! It works OK.

Something corrupted most of the DLL files in the bin directory, had to re-install.

What's with the use of C:\users\public\documents\stalker-shoc to hold screenshots, saved games, etc? lol, I had to do a search to find the all.save & friends for a backup.

Once every 4 or 5 level changes, I lose most textures as well as the menu background picture. Sometimes I also lose the menu text, sometimes not. I found the best way fore me to deal with that is to fire up the task manager and kill x-ray. Else, the corruption sticks.

Finally, the kill the bandits and save the dutyer task in dark valley is hopelessly bugged on my system. 12 of 16 tries I fail before bullet even leaves the camp. Since I find the dutyer dead, my guess is he dies before bullet asks me to help. 4 of 16, the bandits, but not the dutyer, are killed before we get there and after about 10 minutes of watching both dutyers "hang out" they start talking, and tell me what a heel I was to not help. I have more scopes than I can use by then, so only my pride is hurt ;)

I can't comment on most of those bugs as they simply don't happen for me. The thing with bullet I had happen a few times, but not very often. Maybe once in ten times. As for the textures thing its not something I encountered and not something anyone else has mentioned on moddb so I would advise downloading the latest driver for your graphics card and the latest version of directx and installing them, see if that cures your problem :thumbright:
