Thank you for taking time to suggest fixes! I already have the newest drivers available. FWIW, I'm simply giving observations, if I think I've found something related to your mod and not my PC, I'll ask explicitly. Sorry if this bothered you.

I'm thinking my low system specs have twisted the various STALKER modules around themselves. For instance, the loss of textures reverts after restarting STALKER is a sure sign of system failure, not mod or STALKER failure. As is the DLL corruption I had early on.

I'm still having fun, running into green exo-suited loners in Cordon who want me dead and are seemingly made of un-killium makes for an interesting game! As is a Duty entrance guard who suddenly gets a hard-on for my scalp! Or, psy-emissions in zones I MUST pass through. Or, getting out of DV after X18. Good stuff! :-bd

Compared to what TK will be like with the completed all.spawn rockingmtranch is working on, what you will be playing is a walk in the park by comparison :p

Currently I would say its difficulty is exoskeleton to rock hard, with the all.spawn, you're looking at nails hard. I've just got finished editing all the mutant and NPC skins for the mod, they should now look more realistic, just to add to that disturbing factor a little more :D

Oh dear. My predicted death count just got higher.

Close to starting my game adventure now. Just waiting for the gamedata folder to copy and paste across.

As I have not tried it yet does it have a sort of news feature? Like on NEWSA, AMK and perhaps even Oblivion Lost? Where random people will broadcast a message saying like I saw a dog at Dark Valley earlier (as an example). If not is there any chance of one being added? If not thats okay but I just like the system

Okay I finally played the beginning. And trying to think how to get out of this situation is driving me nuts. My tactics are drawing blank because of you Wolf!

Current Deaths: 2
So I start the game with everything pretty much on max and it looking really good. Now its night time and with the flashlight I am really going to feel the atmosphere and get scared easily. Now after I talk to Wolf and finish which as I expected spawns a load of mutants (not the ones I was thinking). Now after this Wolf at some point turns hostile on me. I looked at the contacts page and see he has very bad reputation while the other loners have neutral and they all start friendly towards me and Wolf suddenly goes enemy.
Its already tough having a Bloodsucker already jump on me after speaking before I can get my gun out along with a Burer but god damn Wolf takes the dificulty a whole new level :mozilla_frown:

So ket or anyone else. Any advice on how to get pass this annoying part? I can get into the attic or Sid's place but wondering if Wolf should actually go hostile?

I dread to think what else is waiting for me up ahead :-ss
And if I am struggling here I dread to even think whats been done with the all.spawn for the newer version :-ss

Sorry for double post.
Also whats the name of the music on the menu called? Im sure I heard it before but can't for the life of me remember from where. I think it could be from one of the Resident Evil's or been in them at least but I seriously can't think where from.

Edit:
Random fights (some NPCs will turn against you without warning, and some even in factions your neautral or friends with simply just won't like you. This is not a bug!)
I don't know what to fully make of this feature. I tried the game again from a fresh new game and this time I had about 2 Loners trying to kill me. How does this little system actually work? Does it work for everyone else too? Like a Loner will just suddenly attack another Loner?

Mega Edit:
Is the one on page 12 of this thread the latest? I did some exploring on the one on moddb and noticed that has 31st March on it while the one here says 13th March.
Sorry for being a pain 8-[

I, too, thought the music was from Resident Evil. I don't know the song title, though.

Not only Loners, I've had one of the South entrance to Bar Dutyers suddenly "go red" as I walk blithely into Bar. The bastage started shooting me in the back! I killed him, and his fellow Dutyers didn't care. So, apparently, once they turn red they're fair game.

This seemingly random enemy creation will really keep you on your toes! I find I use the mini-map more than ever. It's going to be fun when I get my new rig built and can play the Twilight mod once again.

Phew, therse a lot of questions there!

1. To beat Wolf its very easy. If youre a clever stalker, you have already taken a short visit to the military outpost to pick up a AKSU and ammo, and salvaged the merc body armour from the house in the rookie village. Its all square then ;)

2. The menu music has no name, its just a little skit that was done by Adema for the first resident evil film

3. Yes, you will from time to time come across random loners scrapping it out between eachother

4. The very latest TK beta is the one available from moddb, theres a hell of a lot of changes that went on over those few weeks.

I hope you remain afraid in the zone :p Also, if anyone gets a chance, would be cool to see some in-game videos from other players. Ones I really like will get fame by being uploaded to moddb telling everybody who took the video :thumbright:

Thanks guys

I currently have the TK version from page 12 of this thread. So the one on moddb is newer? Is there a chance it could be uploaded somewhere else as I have lots of trouble downloading from moddb mainly due to the speed I get (6+ hours just to get it to 50% :mozilla_frown: ) Also do I need to start a new game after its downloaded?

I started my recording and somehow haven't died once yet :mozilla_surprised:

Theres an AK at the military outpost? Damn I didn't know that.

I thought it was from the film but couldn't quite place my finger on it. Thanks for telling me ket :D

Nice to know its not just me it happens to. Is this what the bandits do at the car park as most of them seem to end up dead by the time I get there.

I actually right now recorded 54 minutes of my lets play using your mod. Will upload them tomorrow or as its 00:08 right now later today on youtube :D
At night I am scared as you can barely see at all. And at day I am blinded by the sun B-) I can't seem to win against the Zone.

I started a full new game and this time only two loners turned against me. After letting everyone kill themselves with the mutants I took the left overs. I then went around and took all the loot near rookie village. Went to car park and most bandits were dead apart from two. I think there were a few mutants around but me and Petruha with his two guys took control of the area quick enough.

Edit:
Damnit. Need to start again the recording messed up at the beginning during processing (I deleted videos afterwards by mistake). Now I only had the last part of clips while the most of beginning was black screen with audio.

Its not essential to start a new game with the version on moddb, but its advised otherwise you will miss out on some stuff. I'll try to upload a new TK beta, but its a no go atm as my interwebz keeps cutting out at random :( Looking forward to watching your vids :-bd

Keep your eyes peeled on moddb, I just uploaded a small patch update for the beta, makes NPCs and mutants look more realistic.

Ket, ya know I love you as a brother, but WTF have you done to stalker bro? O_O

I just noticed in 5 different games that the start camp turned hostile, the entirety, so its either use the ammo at the start to help kill mutants and be left with nothing, or don't shoot the mutants, of which btw is a joke at the start of the game, really ruins it straight away. Anyhoo, you have to then use the ammo on the stalkers so either way you lose out, good job I know where the ammo stashes are aye? Went to the bandit camp, saw a bandit getting shot by another which was pretty funny, breezed through it with Petruha, the ballsitics are Fubar. 5 shots at pointblank into a Stalkers back with a PMM P+ rounds and 3 into a bandits head to kill him, but then other times one shot is all it took in the chest/head from distance wtf? The lighting is also kinda weird. The stealth is as all other games I seem to have played, we had this convo before so Imma skip this part.

I understand what you wanted with the whole traitor stalkers shizzle, but the execution of which was kinda badly done, lower the percentage maybe, anyway, I uninstalled the mod, sorry bro, but its not for me, I basically tanked through the game with just a pistol, hell I got shot 5 times by the military at the bridge on master and still walked away with 1/4 health. As for the AK, I know that it being broken will affect the way it shoots, but not that badly, and I'm sure alot of my Gunnut friends will agree.

Pansy. Theres plenty of ways to kill traitor stalkers and the mutants while walking away with plenty of ammo. Thats why you have a knife, amogst other ways.. ;) Youre just still thinking about stalker as a mere game, not fight for your life survival. The thunder is from stancia, its not odd at all if you consider what I'm doing with TK, taking it to the absolute "what if" scenario. Anyway, out of some 200 ppl who have played the new beta youre the first to complain, cant please everyone and the minority are clearly wrong :p Don't moan about the ballistics either they have always been fubar in stalker can't pin that on me :-Q Your aim is also terrible I've seen your videos :p I can confirm that most enemies die with one shot to the head, I do it frequently. If you want to moan go play COP then complain it takes about 8 shots to the head with a pistol just to kill a boar and how erratic firing any assault rifle becomes. Aaaaand I think the last part that needs answering is the bodyshots, I've told people a million billion gazillion times that calibur of ammo and type plays a huge part in how easy enemies are to kill now as enemies have their own armour stats now. Standard military training dictats if you kill a unarmoured opponent in 3 shots you got a good kill, so balancing that out to 5 shots given all NPCs are armoured is perfectly realistic. Obviously, as you encounter enemies in better armour it'll take a lot more shots to kill them if youre not properly equipped to kill them efficiently. Difficulty also progressively gets harder as the game goes on, I've died at the NPP god knows how many times even in my own custom armour thats tough as nails where monolith, helicopters, APCs and the military have all been going for me. :O

Anyone who wants me to upload a vid showing jamie just has bad aim let me know :D
