You have always stayed long and reported a lot from Pripyat, you were right, in the return voyage particularly, there are epic battles are being fought.

Now that the pathway crashes are eliminated for good, staying longer in Pripyat is a joy, a sort, if you like a brutal gameplay, lol.

It sounds like the difficulty of this mod will put Busetibi in an
"orgasmic" state for many hours...which means I will die alot.
Still looking forward to it! :thumbright:

I love using that school building in Pripyat for a base :thumbright:

I can't imagine how many hours clearing out the vertex in patrol path and pri_wave2_wsniper must have taken but I'll bet it was a hellova lot, thank you for your support and dedication to your mod.

Thank you  I think I started on this subject, Pripyat vertex/pathway problems (the same type that also haunted Yantar Kruglov as well) fully at the end of November; it took some thinking, assessing/testing the choices and the Christmas time went through it, lol. There were one or two other options that I considered to eliminate this vanilla problem (which can hit anywhere in the game, from start to finis; but yantar and specially Pripyat were too valnurable) but I didn't like the other options at the end, because I felt that they altered the game scenario/feel of game a bit more that I'd like (not technically, though) But this option of eliminating the vertex handling problems, that I'm now satisfied with, do not have any techical side effects either and furthermore the gameplay is not effected at all. The same ferocity is continuing to be apparent throughout the game, particularly in Pripyat. B-)
This is the same xray engine, and it's subject to stumble upon, cough and sneeze along the road at any time, but at least we have now a few more smoothed out areas and less problems.

When the works achieves something and when there are folks who want to play the end product, no work feels tiresome at the end. Thank you guys.

Thank you Wombat_70 it's always pleasure to see dedicated players  This game STALKER that GSC created still stands above so many games, and when adding one of the many mods, it even excels further. The other games somewhow ends up a bit flat, while STALKER has some multi-dimensional epic quality. Yes, then the mods take it to different dimensions.

Having completed the technical (scripts, xml, etc) based work with the latest success in Pripyat at the last stage of this category, I am now tidying up the EXTREME mode and I'll be adding some new visuals -that I've been testing for some time- to some certain things and levels in the game (to be effective in all modes) and run a final full test, from Sidorovic-to-Sidorovic (from start to the back to Sid in Freeplay)

heh he  thanks busetibi. This Pripyat stuff took a lot of time but now it should not take long to complete everything ready. But it won't be ready in less than two weeks, to be honest, as I'm under a tight schedule work-wise as well. If I could spend the whole day for the mod, it could finish in a day or two at this stage; but I can only work around one hour everyday. That should tell you how close it is to be completed. But I see your point after fiznerpin1962's post. decisions...decisions :-k

Wow. haven't run into this since 1st vanilla play!

Postby fiznerpin1962 on 22 Jan 2009 11:55

Firstly, I tried the search bar - oh yes - I did. No hits, so here it is:
I'm in dark valley, none of my quicksaves or manual saves will load (CTD), only the auto save @ the beginning of the level. I can get the mission to save the duty member (finally, after chasing down the bandits in the lab.) but I can't get the *hit <key> to talk* prompt to talk to him & end the friggin mission! The BIGGER problem is Borov - he's not there! Got a funny symbol on map instead of the usual (circle with 4 dots in it instead of green crosshair) but no Borov, no key, no minigun.
Just what the blue blazes is the f@*%ing problem here? Did I fight all that way to do a re-install??

I do remember Natvac giving me a "snippet" of script about actor_have_borov_key or something like that back in the beginning of SoC - wish I remembered how it went & where to put it right now... this rates a ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) :-Q

update: uninstalled/reinstalled a fresh SoC + .004 patch.... seem to get intermittent hard saves to work - but I lost my control binds once... quicksave/load is hit & miss. See the little guy with a circle around it on my map that says Borov right until I'm almost there... then turns into funny symbol (::)

%$^$#@$#%$^%%$^%$^%...... *deep ragged breath* @$#@$#@%$#$# :mozilla_yell: #-o oh my friggin' head...

You play vanilla I guess, or do you have a mod installed as well?
In any case, it seems that your STALKER has hit a techical problem. If you recently added a file, first thing to do would be remove that file. If it's not the case, then instead of reinstalling STALKER, I may be able to offer you a temp fix which should allow you to pass the level as having completed all those missions (without needing to complete them) but you can still rampage around as you wish.
Right now, I'm not at the computer that has the game stuff, it's lunch time in the UK, towards evening here, I can send you a file, but I need to know if it's vanilla or mod, because lines and many things are different in mods.

You may be right, busetibi, but seeing that he has posted his problem here instead of the mod's thread and that he says he reinstalled the game and 1.0004 patch, not mentioning any mod, I assumed that he might be playing vanilla. Anyway, his problem is not associated with NEWSA (even if he is playing it) or vanilla either. I think he has either (knowingly or mistakenly) dropped an incompatible file from a mod that has upsetted many things or his system got corrupted seriously. Reinstall seems not helping him, so there must be something else still exist on his PC that makes a hit on STALKER.
--------------------

OK, fiznerpin, check your email box....I sent you a global fix based on vanilla which would force the scripts to run in the background without you needing to complete those missions and you'll get the missions done and get the Borov Key and the Military Documents without even needing to enter the lab. I explained in the email. If you are playing vanilla, then you can continue as it is, with the fix in your gamedata; but if you are running any mod, then it'd be better that you should save and exit the game after you got the missions done and your path is cleared, then put the original file that my fix had replaced back to its place. So that if any mod has altered the vanilla game on those sections you will be able continue under that mod. If not works, you may have a serious problem. we may need more info on the matter then. I hope it'll be enough.

Dudes. I only play NEWSA - ever since it first came out. Nothing else compares. The only thing I can think of is the Newsa 2.0 & 2.4 updates stayed in my THQ file when I reinstalled vanilla. Maybe that is corrupted somehow. (I have actually been trouble free for many mods, many playthroughs) The only file I changed was adding the Newsa music file.... :-??

BTW - my bad as to this post location - I was all over the place in here this morning... L-) <<< fiz

Wow, fiznerpin1962, that's one big praise. I had been looking at the monitor with sleepy eyes, now ne sleep whatsover. :D :salute:

I hope you've got my email, if not check your box please.

I think you should delete the full gamedata folder and reinstall the mod and 2.4 patch from the beginning. manually delete it, so you can make it sure that no files have been left ion the gamedata. Installer will create a new gamedata folder if you don't make one yourself, so don't worry.
I'd expect that a full reinstall of the mod should clear the problem, if not then as a quick solution use the fix that I sent you as the desc. in the email.

(I'll move this thread to NEWSA thread now.)

Update: deep sixed gamedata folder, downloaded a fresh patch, all good! Going into lab now - everything else went off without a hitch - got me a key, got me a minigun... :-bd
