Scoring hits on fast-running/twisting Firebites with a sniper rifle?? You must be a very sharp shooter. :salute:

:-?? Blame the military - or a passion for high powered rifles & running deer. The choice is yours... :-?

I had thought something like that :mozilla_wink:

OK, what the hell, I've just added another APC on a nice strategic point, so you can practise your knowledge and skills; after all, why have you developed them so far and so much, if you wouldn't use them?

 :Homerdance: I want to so badly play v3

edit: Bloodsucker Hell Version, I remember "bumping" into these nasty sods in NEWSA v1, mean sons of bitches, as if taking out two Controllers was not hard enough but to be also attacked by one of these at the same time :-ss
http://busetibi.homestead.com/files/ss_ ... ipyat_.jpg

Yup, they are already very mean and bad, this version has a bit more clever and disguised itself better, visbility times are shorter and it's faster, more powerful and more resilient to punishment, well, meaning to fire and knife stuff.

Currently it uses the hell (to be more precise "bloodhell" version's meshes and will visually appear as the same, but you'll notice the attack difference and during the struggle of course.

I'm planning to make it wear some different clothes :mozilla_wink: later, but at the moment it's a very long work. I've already checked the CS bloodsucker textures (thanks EggChen who gave me a link to a texture mod that offers this) but I can proudly say that the current bloodhell textures/meshes are much better than what CS offers.

Later, after the release of v3.0, I'm already planning to offer a a sort of service pack which will update some things even further, and I will have more time until then and hopefully may be able to offer something more unique, like it uncloacks with some striking appearance in front of you, of course, if I can pull it off. That is for much later, of course.

And in the future, I am planning to import Tanks, lile T-72 stuff that does real tank stuff instead of current APCs, or, having a mixture of them. But this work will require very difficult mesh work. Well, we've already started speaking beyond v3.0, lol. First things first.

Here are some screenies from my random playthroughs I have done.

Dog in 100 rads bar (you can see the fire it has made in the doorway and on the otherside):

Someday Nightwatch, you should put some modern American firepower in NEWSA...
say like... a stainless & composite Tika T3 - in 7mm remington magnum. Maybe some necked down Weatherby cartridges loaded hot as hell..... just a subliminal hint :-"

couldn't agree more, although some action/after action screens may help,
regarding artifacts, you really need to do two side missions (very easy) for the Warrent Officer who stands infront of the gates leading to the Bar from Garbage, (you know the one who asks for help to kill the Boars first trip through to the Bar?)
do the two missions for him and you get a superdupera grandma beads from him.

Nice shots Balious

Fiznerpin1962, yeah, it's obvious you know your guns very well. B-)

And same goes with you as well, audioave10 , they are really some weapons there ...and scopes, too. :thumbright:

_________
Guys,

since yesterday, I'm dealing with this APC that I intoduced as the latest one. nothing techical, everything works fine, but the damn thing start going after some dog packs nearby and shooting them, lol, then some mercs spawn (sometimes) and it starts making colanders out of them. So far it's OK, but by doing so, it makes its positioning very obvious, too. I'm trying to fit it in a slot of place and time while considering the dogs and mercs so that it should keep its cover intact as much as possible. Small things always make you work a lot more than anticipated. Damn dogs, lol. :D

Keep the damn APC there. You can't have them all hidden B-) . Besides I didn't really think APC's are good with stealth. Perhaps you could have them patroling up and down cordon like the military really own it all? Then again much harder work is needed (for me anyway) to dodge them. Or in other people's cases to kill.

And thanks everyone for the advice on needing more artifacts and where to get them

Regretfully, you may have to remove the vodka from the front seat of

Good one :-bd

Also, I think you and everybody would like to hear that the APCs are no longer effected by anomalies and they will not hoover up in the air when they walked over an anomaly or the anomaly materializes right under them. So far all the tests endorses this result.
(it means there is no Vodka for drivers anymore. lol. )

Balious,
yeah, there's only that much can be done to try to conceal APCs, they won't be so concealed completely for their being APCs, But EggChen's new kamos will make it even more difficult to spot them.

ps: if they started patrolling the village in Cordon, they'd leave no one alive there, lol.

Curse you Nightwatch :mozilla_frown: I enjoyed watching them do that. Now all I have is pain and suffering from all the deaths I will now have. Along with the YES I FINALLY KILLED IT moments that may be followed shortly after the oh no I got shot by snipers moment.

Also I don't think it matters if no one is left in the village for me anyway as most of them somehow manage to get killed (Nimble is one who decides to walk slowly towards the APC at the outpost followed shortly by Wolf. I think we all know what happened).

Right now all I can see are dogs, dogs, dogs and more dogs. It feels like bloodsuckers (quite rare for me to see them only when they close to dying) and snorks (although I do see them every so often getting pwnt by dogs). Fleshes always appear in the same place along with boars (damn they boring). I also wanna meet some controllers  . Perhaps im over reacting on the dog part as theres just loads of them in big packs anywhere I go (they following me 8-| )

Im slowly building up my rank and soon (more likely later) I be in the top ten of the stalker rankings with the NPC's :D . I wonder where this Smartass is on my game. It better not be the one that always hangs around with Wolf when he goes to Army Warehouses. Otherwise I want to know what hes been doing rather then stand pretending to protect the camp.

Balious

It seems that the Zone makes you work hard. You need to progress further along the game and you'll notice that your opposition will be more difficult to deal with. If you hit the game hard (not the screen of course, lol :D ) it'll kick you back even harder. :mozilla_wink:

On dogs: vanilla has more dogs, it's been reduced in this mod. You want to meet more Controllers? I've heard that they would like that, too. Have you seen busetibi's "controller count" on Players Corner?

DARK TEMPLAR

Nice of you to ask, thanks.
All good things come to those who wait. :mozilla_wink:

It's technically finished. It's a matter of piling/compiling files ( afew hundred) into different modes of the mod and varnishing a few things on the way while running the last test, such as repositioning a few APCs, touching a few things' colours and apperances, etc. As I said earlier, I wrote two sets of numbers in various places which would open the doors of the sniper bunker in RF and the ammo bunker in BS.
In Red Forest, blowout a couple of degrees more powerful now, that means if you can't enter the sniper bunker in time (after whacking the sniper of course) you are doomed. No way of survival othrewise.
Well, I noticed that some numbers were too big and obvious, I changed them a bit, toning down their colours. This takes additional time, of course.
Sniper bunker number and the ammo bunker number are both available on three locations each in the game. So no excuse for not being able to see them. :mozilla_wink:

Balious you will not meet lots of Controllers till you hit Freeplay, you will however meet the generic/vanilla amounts while you're playing, make sure you accept the side mission off Lukash (AW level) to "clear the village" you may have to do other side missions before you get this off him, I almost always found two Controllers in the ville, although one of them was in the hills behind that large sillo building (where you go up the wooden staircase)
you may also find one back in Yantar if you revisit the map, he normally hangs out beside the doorway to X16, and sometimes I found one walking down the train lines in WT.
from memory I only had 8 or 9 Controller kills till I came back from Stancia 2 (Freeplay)
then of course the numbers went a little higher :ymdevil: :))

I did write a fairly indepth report about them and the locations back on page 32, it may help you when you go into "Freeplay"
be careful what you wish for because in NEWSA it can bite your ass................... HARD!
for instance........
at the sports complex (beside the downed chopper) in Pripyat, ( NEWSA v2.4 Freeplay) I came across five Controllers, two of them were normal but the other three were "zooming" Controllers (like the one in X16) and I was getting smashed because the Controllers were in different places but zooming me all over the place, so yea good fun :)

I have managed to spawn dead bodies and body pieces, and some APC equipments to be scattered around following the explosion of an APC when you've hit it. It's a decently gruesome site but I don't think that the tough players of Stalker would not cry out scared, lol.

I also managed to make a danaged APC that looks like being kicked with a fire breathing dinasour :D but unfortunately it's on OBJECT file from MAYA 2008 and I don't know how to convert it to the OGF file. I guess I have to use SDK... does it do this stuff?
EggChen, Ket, Dezodor, I need advices here, please.

I have VISTA and SDK is no option on it, but I can use my daughter's XP laptop in the weekend, installing the SDK. Then of course comes the question of how to use it and convert the spectacular industry standard MAYA made OBJECT file to, what? OGF file...
It'll be inculded with this set up if I can manage to convert it to OGF in time, by the time when the last test run has finished.

I'll post a picture of dead and dismembered APC driver and gunners scattered bodies (pieces?) later.

Thanks for the advice. Sounds like fun with the Controllers in Pripyat.

Anyway back from a little quick adventure due to a crash thanks to opening the contacts page (damn I hate that thing but im addicted to pressing that button to see whos by me so I can do a little killing if its the top ten lot)

I have some more screenshots. Well actually just Boar and Flesh.

Watching Boar getting ambushed by a pack of Flesh:
http://i40.tinypic.com/fc6tc9.jpg

Some Boars appearing out of nowhere leaving its mate alone to attack me which they may now of learnt their lesson:
http://i43.tinypic.com/2nv42td.jpg

So the hunt begins:
http://i41.tinypic.com/2j4eo1y.jpg

Two down time to kill the rest:

The Flesh wanting to come up close and personal for a hug which I have an answer for with this weapon:
http://i42.tinypic.com/211714l.jpg

Anyone like this screenshot?:
http://i42.tinypic.com/2n7go3l.jpg

A tough job but someone has to do it. Just maybe this loner could be famous one day.

If anyone asks why I was watching Fleshes eat a Boar it was due to I was gonna kill them for mutant items for certain quests :ymdevil:

I have a question. Is it possible to remove the fences for this mod or will the NPC's cause more crashes etc? I would like the fences gone so I could explore more and see the world while also the mutants and humans are among the place too. But I won't do it if it causes more problems if you know.

Guess I go back to my stalker adventure now. See you lot on my next update B-) Which hopefully have some progress (won't promise anything as I want to finally get pass my critical point)

Sorry buddy, I think Dezo or Jamie would be your best bet here... I have never worked in 3d modelling, and don't have the SDK at the moment.

What I can tell you is I tried to export a level object into an OGF using the SDK and it failed, I think because there was no "bone" for the object. The wiki included a basic tutorial on importing meshes, maybe that could help. I got no word from the Dezowave team when I asked if they could do the export for me, but I know they are very busy.

Still trying to get the SDK working so I can do something for russao, I guess my old laptop is just not up to the task. May have to install it on a relative's machine next time I visit.
