Hello there :thumbright:

I am with you on the attics audioave 10 :thumbright: , my favorite attic when starting off is in the carpark, as they walk up the stairs and through the door they get some shotgun slugs in the chops :D , jump down loot then scuttle back up and wait for next pop :ymdevil: .Get loaded up with stuff then try and get past the bridge.

Ah that brings back some memories :mozilla_oops:. But the way its looking if i can get to the attic by wolf in starter village then that is gonna be my base of operations for a while =))

Hey Guys,

I have some news.
BAD PSU ALERT

You remember that I mentioned a couple of days ago that my PSU took down the house electricity from the mains, shortcicuting everything and that since then it (and ebverything tied to it) was running on toes?

Well, today I called the shop MISCO (mico.co.uk) from where I got this Enermax Liberty Modular PSU, they were extremely understanding and helpful, a surprise in nowadays after sale acre. Anyway, I explained them the situation and introduced myself, they were kind enough to put me in a priority list and thye are sending tomorrow to collect the PSU (even I don't need to send it by post, so saving very valuable time at this stage of the mod release schedule) and I will need to get a new one (with the refund, for it is not repairable) , I haven't chosen one yet, ut I hope I'll be able to do it in a few hours browsing the pages, and I believe it would be delivered equally soon.

So this whole PSU change process should not take more than a few days (as we are coming to the weekened) and I'll be back on the job soon again, in a few days.

I have a laptop, but, 1) I don't like laptops, I can't write very well on them, feel so stange, lol. Also it's one of those laptops on which VISTA never managed to sit properly, causing a lot of problems, e.g. locking, freezing, etc.
2) It's power is nowhere near of what is required to allow continuing the modding.

So, I may not be on the air (for longer periods) for the next a few days, and certainly the mod is taking a short nap during that time.

I will be continuing to work on the mod until this evening. And in the evening I'll take out the PSU. So, you know what happens when a PC does not have a PSU. :mozilla_smile:

Don't worry guys, eveything is under control.
And I need to thank to MISCO for making everything so conveniently. It saves us a lot time. :thumbright:

Bad power supply? What a revolting development.... hope you don't get charged much for one with ample power.

FATAL ERROR

[error]Expression : assertion failed
[error]Function : CUILine::GetLength_inclusiveWord_1
[error]File : E:\stalker\patch_1_0004\xr_3da\xrGame\ui\UILine.cpp
[error]Line : 410
[error]Description : pos.word_1.exist()

stack trace:

Got that just after going back to dark valley after exiting x18 (that is the dark valley underground name right?). Not sure what caused it but I managed to stay put for about a minute before this happened.

If this error didn't happen then I would report back with lots of action going on between loners, military, mutants and whatever else is around.

<Groan>, fiznerpin1962. I'm shocked! :P

audioave10, that's a perfect pic for the situation.

Balious, re your fatal error: That sounds like a UI XML file has an empty text string (or a space). Wild guess here; I recall seeing it when I was trying to get rid of a silly bit of text, an identifier name that appeared when you clicked on the PDA outside of the normal text area on one of the PDA images.

Ultradad, nice images. Nothing like a graphics upgrade to make even the older stuff new.

NatVac
Very interesting point, I remember that when it surfaced on SIMBION (Russian) sites, noone could put a finger on it, very rare error. I'll check things as you point. Thanks. :mozilla_smile:

audioave10

Don't get upset, buddy. Tomorrow they're collecting the faulty PSU and I've already chosen a new one for it, Corsair HX 520 (total 40 Amps on 12V rails with 480 Watts on 12V) not a giant power, but very able particularly on the lines that matter; and a top built quality.
If I had decided on the new PSU they could even send it tomorrow with the same van that will come to collect the faulty one. That's an extraordinary service from MISCO, I'm delightfully surprised with the quality of the service, so our mod will not get delayed about more than a day or two. And I'll work a bit harder to recover the lost time. Promise. :mozilla_smile:
I will order the new PSU in the morning (now 20:30 UK) and, let's see, if it's in stock I'll get it very soon.

Ultradad

Brilliant quality pictures, even suitable for calendar pages :thumbright: So your ATI 4850 performs nicely.

balious

On NatVac's lead, I'll check those files with angle of look, this error that you've faced had been reported on SIMBION (Russian) sites several times long time ago and no one could find a reason for it. Maybe we'll locate the essence of it now.

Yeah, body piles are pretty impressive. Considering I turned down the stay after death time.
I also have a 4850, but I can't turn settings all the way up.
Now this http://i697.photobucket.com/albums/vv34 ... 03_agr.jpg goes way beyond carnage. I think these are some of Jim Jones followers. :ymdevil:

Thanks for the reply on my error before guys. But it seems the game just won't leave me alone to enjoy it without having another error:

FATAL ERROR

[error]Expression : vertex || show_restrictions(m_object)
[error]Function : CPatrolPathManager::select_point
[error]File : E:\stalker\patch_1_0004\xr_3da\xrGame\patrol_path_manager.cpp
[error]Line : 155
[error]Description : any vertex in patrol path [esc_stone_lager_walker_1_walk] in inaccessible for object [esc_fox]

stack trace:

Although I don't understand these things (really should if I want to make games/mods etc) im making a complete guess from what i can think of what it means and its that a NPC got stuck or something. Got this error soon as I got into Cordon (damn Dark Valley was madness and I did it with lag too due to maybe having too much stuff on)

Edit:
The problem happens again if i reload the autosave. I have a save not far from where I left X18.

What door was it? I can't remember it from the picture?
Kruglov is dead if I'm correct, not got too drunk and passed out. He won't disappear. You don't seem you like him much. :mozilla_wink:

audioave10
I can only be pleased with your interest in the developments. :mozilla_smile: Thanks.

Balious
You've got quite unlucky in this Fox business. And you're correct. :thumbright: He got stuck on his way, either there's some blockage on his way, or (as previously NatVac described in much more detail and quality) while he was travelling from one point to another offline, he was put online by the engine in a wrong point, say between walls, inside walls, etc.
He rarely did this in the past. Try sleeping first before entering Cordon, or quit game to Windows then reload it, or Try getting back to garbage using the level changer which you've entered Dark Valley (from Garbage) before.
(I will consider killing Fox after he has spoken with the player, if it doesn't look too silly, from a visual/gameplay point of view. )

Grump642
They removed the picture (if it was not you) was it too graphic? :mozilla_smile:

Its the door that closes behind you (with a scream sound effect) so you have to press forward to Ghost's body and the Controller, then leaving through the tunnels rather than back the way you came. I think it re-opens later, presumably on an info-portion, probably when the Yantar kill brainlab is totally complete (when you talk to Sakharov).

Edit : I believe from the screenshot it was closed before fiz had gone through it....

Oh, that door. Thanks, EggChen. :mozilla_smile:

So fiznerpin, have passed the door or got stuck in front of it? What's your situation?

----------------

I'm downloading the build 1935 XCore GSC stuff, thanks to jamie for the info and the links. I have no idea at the moment what it contains, a full game or the separate unconnecetd stuff, as it is said, it should offer new levels, etc. Then I'll check if we can put them into the game as well for a later update.

PS: PSU Update:
I put back the old PSU, as the new one will be deliverd on Monday and no need to send this one back earlier. Faulty.but still suviving, so no big delay in modding, expect additional time and tiresome it is costing me lol.
(I know it's dangerous to put back a faulty (shorting out) PSU, but already done so anyway, and now I have to advice against it.)
