We rode everyday starting Thursday. It was dark when we got home Thursday and Friday so we got home early on Saturday to cook Christmas dinner (2pm). Over 600 miles in four days. Plus, on Christmas, one of the Indian Casino's where we stopped for a restroom break paid for all the gas muahahahahaha. I love gambling. And here's a map of the area we ride....desert, canyons, mountains all mixed. Fun.
http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8& ... 6deef&z=10
All that and north on the 79, 371, 74, Sage Rd.......Fun, Fun, Fun.

This was pretty much our drive up to SLC:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source= ... e=UTF8&z=6
One way, its 20ish hours straight. Thanks to nodos and monster... we did it while only stopping for gas.

And this was the very flat way back... Wyoming was just sandblasted flatness... it was bloody depressing!

Yeah, the speed limit was 75 most of the way, 55 in some smaller parts.... Though the wind is more of a speed limit than any cop or sign... there were these big metal slats dug into the ground that come up about 6 feet on either side of the highway, blocking (some) of the wind. Even then, the wind was kickin' the suv's ass... we got about 14 miles to the gallon all through wyoming. It was just so damn high, flat, and windy that there was no life other than dried up shrubs everywhere. Friggin' depressing man.

But, on the other hand... I-70 was just amazingly beautiful.

EDIT:
Fun fact! That stretch of highway in wyoming we were on, I-80, if you follow it all the way east to where it meets up with I-81, you'll be at my old house in PA. And that stretch of highway in kansas, I-70, if you follow that east until you get to Rt. 309 S, you'll be at my old house in Dayton...

Happy new year folks! Be sure to take some Ibprofen, a multivitamin, and drink lots of water before you go to sleep tonight... It'll help with them new years hangovers.

Happy New Year. And the hangover cure (I just learned this in Nutrition class) is a tall glass of water and B-12 vitamin before bed. Tried it. Works. Oh, and we just got home from riding....WOO-HOO! :-bd

Yep, all a hang-over really is is dehydration. My Uncle taught me this trick after I had a bad night drinking tequila for the first time.

I think b12 vitamin helps the liver to deal with the alcohol, I'm no doctor, just guessing.

PS: two nights ago I was stopped while driving by the police. It was just after midnight. Worse thing is that I had drank a bit before, just one glass of wine with the dinner and I was called and it was urgent and I really had to go. Look at the chance, I had forgotten to turn the headlights on, possibly due to the rush; never done it before. :-" And, as if it was all waiting for me, the police saw me and stopped me, rest is being offered to take a drink test by blowing into that hand-held machine. Say no and you're arrested. I was just at the line which separates the acceptable limit with the prospect of being arrested for being over-the-limit. One drink in a few hours time and still making barely "on the limit" #:-s

Technically, being arrested for refusing to blow into the breathalizers is illegal. And if they try to charge you for anything related to that pull-over, it won't stand up in court... At least, that is what I was told by someone who went to law school. Personally, I would only try it under dire circumstances. I got a friend who is a cop, I'll ask him about it.

Heh, used to go into haunted houses with him and some other friends... there are some REALLY creepy places in NE Penssylvania. Its even more fun when everyone brings their girlfriends along. I swear, chicks are more susceptable to over-active imaginations. We laughed and laughed. (No offense to any females reading this. I'm talking about who we were hanging out with... You know what, just hand me a shovel. I'll dig my own grave :P)

Erm, sorry. Reminscing can be fun, you know?

EDIT: Got loud down here in Tulsa on new years. Did you know that if you can take shotgun shells, empty out the shots, tape a marble to the primer, and throw em that they make instant fireworks? 'Tis much fun! Did that with a ton of bird shots while firing off those morters...

That was a close call for sure Nightwatch. Next time, just wait an extra hour or so before rushing to said emergency. And yes, B12 helps the body burn calories and alcohol has 7 calories per gram (plus I forgot to add that 100mg is needed for it to work). And that does sound fun with the shotgun shells Meandering. Gonna hafta try that :thumbright:

Just stand back when you do it... even if all of the shots are emptied out, there's still that plastic sabot-packing thing in there that breaks and sends little plastic pieces everywhere. Don't lose an eye on my account!

So I was watching my uncle's kid today... we were watching Yo Gabba Gabba.

...In a half hour, I lost more brain cells than all of my combined drug use... And on top of that, JAck Black was on there...

...in an orange jump-suit. Last thing I needed in my life was seeing his fat ass in tights saying "it actually fits!"

He HAD to be stoned considering the way he acted...
