The synopsis:
April 27th, 1986:
An unidentified flying object crashed down in the southern region near Linnakallio village, resulting in the forming of an hazardious area, where the laws of nature have gone askew.
This was one of the six regions, that were formed within a day in the Northern Eurasian and Northern American area.
These regions were later knowns as "Zones".
The joint efforts of Finnish Defence Forces and other authorities in evacuating the area ended in total failure. Hundreds of soldiers and civilians either died or disappeared during the operation. Tthe original inhabitants of the affected area were never found.
The military isolated the zone completely from the outside world. Posting fences, guardtowers and guarding the area day and night, the soldiers effectively blocked anyone from getting into the zone, or out from there.
Or so they thought...
A new subculture of crime formed around the zone, the "Stalkers".
By risking their own lives, avoiding both the soldiers bullets and the dangers of the zone itself, the stalkers venture into the area in search of "Artefacts", strange items not of this world.
For having properties that defy the laws of physics, the Artefacts are in high demand on the black market, being bought by research institutes, weapon manufacturers and even private collectors around the world.
A stalker is released from prison, a sentence he received for being caught within the guarded zone.
While trying to integrate back to everyday life, he's approached by his old employer asking for his help.
The son of the stalkers old mentor has landed himself in to trouble by hiring two other stalkers to locate the whereabouts of an mysterious item near the center of the zone, called "the pyramid". The pyramid has always been a myth among the stalkers, an device which can supposedly grant wishes, if activated.
The myth now seems to be actually true, when the stalkers confirm the pyramid's location, moments before being caught.
The son also has in his possession a "key", which is said to be the required object in activating the pyramid.
Now, with the other two stalkers caught, an corrupt military captain in the Zone guard has his sights set for the pyramid.
Now race begins. Which one will reach the pyramid first and unlock its secrets

Salt Lake City should be interesting, I'd expect. Though, sure it's not an easy thing to do with heavy workload and deadlines, but we'd sure like to see any photos and notes if and when you find a chance, buddy.
Though, I know that Wi-Fi is always a problem on the road, maybe one of the biggest handicaps that travel can throw at you.
