It hasnt gone over my head, its just the fact its quite discriminating to one Stereotype, in ways of which arent even true.

I have been, and still am a chav to a extent i suppose, and alot of my freinds are "Chavs", none of which are sponging off the system, having 9 million kids, getting pissed and vandalising property, infact most are either doing a college course, an apprenticeship, and one of my mates has made it big in the MC/Rap Scene, that article seems to tar all chavs with the same brush, yes there probably are some chavs who sponge and have kids, i wouldnt call them chavs though, i call them a waste of space, you see, i myself am a chav to an extent, but i dont sponge, get pissed, vandalise, and have unprotected sex and have kids, instead, im doing a IT diploma, Improving my Portfolio with new Models, Graphics, Banners, Tags, Logo's and so on.

I to an extent find that Uncylopedia Article quite offensive, you lot seem to be going on about chavs in a bad light because you just read about them, you havent been as far as i can tell, social to them, hang around with them and talk to them, if you had you would realise we are rather diffrent than we are made out to be.

And yes Nightwatch, there are a few people who have the tags hanging on the flatpeaks, but only on occasion.

I'm afraid your response shows that it clearly has.

It is a humourous article, using incorrect facts to create humour, it actually takes the piss out of the stereotyping of chavs in many respects, rather than the chav itself. I would say that (almost) anyone who read that would understand that it is not a factual article, and is intended for humour. The name of the site is a rather large clue here.

Now, your perspective on chavs is not shared by everyone else. Does that make them wrong and you right? There are regional differences, what one area calls a chav another may refer to as hoodies, or street thugs. Where you live a chav is obviously different to where I and, presumably, the writer(s) of the article live. If you put the word chav into Google Image Search you will see a wealth of different interpretations, so it clearly is not a constant accross this country.

I have had enough dealings with chavs, believe me, to find many aspects of that article funny. However, I would not class you as a chav, even though you do. To labour the point, we have different perceptions on what a chav is, neither of us is incorrect.

Finally, to try and demonstrate the nature of the site, if you go into the sections, History, then Nazis, you will see that Hannah Montana is listed..... enough said?

I know its a humerous article, but i dont find it funny is that a crime?

I know people from many areas, London, Plymouth, Manchester and so forth, all of the people i know are not as described even in that humerous way, but then there are people who actualy think they are like that and its not nice or funny, i dont care what people want to think or are made to think, i never said they are wrong and im right, i just want to share my first hand experiance or insight so to speak.

You said yourself you have encountered Chavs on many occasions, and find it funny, but you judge them and belive they sponge off the system and so forth?

If so why, because humerous articles say so, or beacuse its what you have seen from various sources and freinds, but not firsthand?

Of course its not a crime, just as it is not a crime to find it funny...

I don't believe they sponge of the system, I know they do. Before you jump on this, I am not saying all of them, but enough to make it part of the stereotype in this region. My best mate works for the Employment Agency, or whatever it is called these days, investigating benefit fraud. The lengths some people go to would amaze you, one of the suspected fraudsters he interviewed, he told they would be cancelling her disability benefit (she had been found working on a market stall cash in hand). Her response, "I'll just get myself knocked up then, you'll have to pay child support then, and house me".

Now that is one of many examples the friend I have known for over 20 years has shared with me.

My brother's girlfriend of over 8 years comes from a family, where they almost all sponge off the system. She works, and is the only one from a family of 7. Her brother has three kids, a council house, never worked a day in his life, and he drives an Audi..... Her sister has four kids, all from different fathers, never worked a day in her life, council house and enough money to buy drugs every weekend... I know these people and have had conversations with them on a number of occasions, I have asked about the way they live their life. The main reason is, it is easier than getting a job and supporting yourself, they make no apologies for sponging off the system I pay into. In fact in many ways they view the people who work as being a bit dim....

Yesterday, a guy I know on long term state incapacity benefit was debating what to do with his Christmas bonus!!! He has a Villa season ticket, and goes on more holidays than I do, I work 40+ hours a week, he has never held down a job for longer than a week. Enough said?

Just to reiterate one point, the government pays out a Christmas bonus to benefit claimants!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now, you probably do not see anyone mentioned above as a chav, but I do. So my perception is different to yours, and I found that article very funny, you didn't.... fair enough.

Ok, i see where your coming from, fair enough, but can i just add this to it.

I think your find this world is going to shit, Drug Takers and Alcoholics and people like that get everything given to them, if your not Dying, Druggy, Alcoholic, or someother thing, you get nothing, and this may seem odd to say, but all the Forenigers coming over from Places are given a house, cars, money galore, whilst British people, who are worse off, get put back to the end of the queue and get given nothing, this world makes me sick, and you wonder why people do such things, they do it because its the only way to get anything, because its all being given the Immagrants and Druggys, its F-ing sickning.

For example, i know a few people who must make about 3 grand a week from drug dealing, one was done on charge of rape, and got away with it, they live at home, they get everything given to them, they make a shitload of cash, and then theres a family like im in, working 24/7 just to struggle to pay bills and shit, and the Goverment are fucking us over, because we dont do or sell drugs or because we aint Immagrant.

Makes me sick, and as you can tell im not in a good mood, and over the past few days havent been mentaly stable, hence why im a bit snappy, i apologize in advance if i seemed to forward to you eggchen.

There was no problem buddy, it is the sign of a civilised mind that can agree to disagree. Civil debates from opposing views are never a problem!! The Bar is as good a place as any to be having them, and venting a bit can often help.

Load up a game and go wild, may help improve your mood a bit. Lately I have been mostly seeing how far in a Crysis level I can get using a Korean as a bullet shield 8-[

http://rapidshare.com/files/86616038/rebeta1002.zip.html

I've already downloaded one, considering that files on rapidshare sometimes do not stay long. If you can't find there, I can give it to you.

_______________
Also I saw in CVG site that EA will satrt to offer many of its games through STEAM from now on. News clip says:

"A number of big name EA titles are now available via Valve's digital distribution platform Steam.
Spore (plus the Spore Creepy & Cute Parts Pack), Mass Effect, Need for Speed: Undercover, Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning and EA Sports FIFA Manager 2009 are available now to US and Canadian gamers.

In the coming weeks Mirror's Edge, Command & Conquer Red Alert 3 and Dead Space will also be added to the catalogue of EA games available via Steam, which boasts over 15 million user accounts.

UPDATE: Spore, Spore Creepy & Cute Parts Pack, Mass Effect, Need for Speed Undercover and FIFA Manager 2009 are now available in Europe. Dead Space, Mirror's Edge and Red Alert 3 are to follow."

The EA games offered on Steam should not have Securom on them
from what I've read but some games on Steam still do. I don't like
Steam myself but then I don't do multiplayer. Valve never kept their
promise to reduce prices except for the sales on older games they sometimes have.
It might make more games available for Europe so that might be good for some.

Well, I have now a long standing policy of not using STEAM. I like to control the software, not the way around. I'm OK with the online activation process up to an extent, like it happens with many software when you buy them and start them for the first time, like in the cases of Windows, Adobe, etc. But, that's it.

So, any offers, good or bad, actually would hardly affect me.

Lets have a completly different chat.

Do any of you believe in zombies? Do you think one day just one day that a zombie outbreak may just happen? Do you have a zombie plan to live as long as possible to try and live through it?

I believe in them and my zombie plans are rusty to actually think i survive through them though.

This whole zombie thing started from Haiti, as many of you may know. I haven't undertook a study on zombi-ism  but as far as I'm aware, during their religious/traditional rituals some Haitians used a certain substance and it caused the recipient of this substance to drop into a kind of suspended animation -with very very low heart beat and seldom very shallow breathing- and led the others believe that the person had died (whereas he hadn't). So they buried those, and cutting the long story short, when those woke up in the grave, (provided that they managed to make their way out of the coffin/grave) started walking in the streets naturally so. Then imagine the panic.
There might have some problems in their behaviours as well, not so surprising with the side effects of that substance and the ordeal of finding themselves being buried alive, Then, welcome to the zombie myth. :axe:

The theory that, for example, the Resident Evil series use is diferent and they try to give a touch of science into it, with an effort to place it within the boundaries of science-fiction.

This story is true! ^^^
In other news...It may well be that Microsuck has ruined GTA 4. I
say this because I have a prepared copy from my tech buddy that
doesn't use MS Live Update or GFWLive. It otherwise works and has
saved games like any other game. Because of this I can run it at 1680x1050 med/high on a AMD X2 2.8ghz, 2gb RAM and 8800GTS
640MB card. This game is beautiful! If quadcore guys are having so
much trouble with it, why does it run so good for me. It's very smooth at night w/headlights on and driving at high speed. I don't
know what my FPS is but I don't have to care. Without MS stuff on
it, it's a dream for me. Doesn't that suck?

Hey Y'all! Sorry I haven't posted in a while... finally got done with the big project at work and now I'm trying to get back into the swing of things. It is really hard... seems like I have a big case of burn-out or apathy or whatever. I dunno... but it is making it dern difficult to get interested in the game again. I just got a request for a mod from one of the folks I had made a mod for several months ago and I did manage to whip it out. That kinda got me going again. Shoot... trying to remember all the edits was a bear!
Anyhow, I hope everyone is doing fine! :thumbright:

Nice to see you have not forgotten us buddy!!

Hope your doing well, and do enjoy Christmas when you finally get chance, sorry to hear about the family problems. If you did indeed get FarCry 2 as a pressie, it may be worth trying a quick exchange for Fallout 3, that is a good game, just be sure to read up on it if you have a quad core, it gave me some serious problems (but we have made friends again now).

Hi fatrap :salute: Good to see you back on your feet again, escaped from the claws of that metal works. Sure you'll start doing modding again, buddy. As they say, old habits die hard; and theer are many who don't want it to die at all.

(PS: I'm sorry about the sad news in the family, my deepest condolences to you all)
