Thanks guys.... my wife's father passed away 2 weeks ago. He was a really swell guy. We knew it was coming but we were hoping that he would make it through Christmas. Anyhow, my wife and youngest daughter have been out in So California since he passed away. He was a retired captain in the Cal. Dept. of Forestry. I dunno if any of you live in So Cal, but if you noticed all the fire station flags at half mast Friday before last, that is what it was all about.

Thanks guys for all the comments about my father-in-law.... it means a lot to me!

On a happier note y'all won't believe my latest project.... I am teaching myself laptop repair! I have worked on desktops for many years but there really isn't much of an income potential with them. Everyone knows someone who can fix a desktop! Laptops are a different critter and a lot of desktop techs will not work on them... so hopefully this will give me a "at home" source of income if I get too crippled up to work a regular job. At least it will keep my mind busy! :mozilla_surprised:
I have been hitting eBay for lots of junkers... started out with the Dell Latitude C600 family because they are a good unit and they go really cheap. My workshop (AKA bedroom) looks like a large electronics store that a bomb went off in! I have more laptops than I want to admit to!!! And I got most of them up and going in a very short time... out of the first 8 I got 5 running strong, 1 that is going to be strong as soon as I replace a broken hinge and another that is kinda medium.... the last one will require a lot of work 'cause I borrowed parts off it to get the others going. Whew!! What a mess.... I will test them a bit longer and then back on eBay they go! Wish me luck!!! :thumbright:

I would be interested in one of those John. I have a couple more years of college so, shoot me an e-mail if you're so inclined.

Hey John, my tech buddy has easily repaired over 1000 laptops and
was a level 2 Dell technician in Las Vegas for some years. If you run
across a difficult one to repair, I can get you some experienced
advice. One problem you might run into is parts availability.

They do great vids out of this fallout 3, if the game is to be forgotten in the future, I can't say the same for these videos, though, lol. :D

I am really getting into this game, including a bit of amateur modding :-k

The tools are excellent, glad I persevered to get this game working!!

Edit: I should add a thank you to Audioave here, so =D>

Seems like there's more money in " disinfecting" comps these days. So many people do not have a clue. You ever here "How can my computer have a virus? It's just a machine."

Nice of you to pop in Jamie!! You just cannot stay away :thumbright:

If you find that modding helps take your mind off things, finish that vault, it looked cool.
