Yep, just to reiterate part of my previous post...
they depend on each other
Imagine, entering Agroprom Underground for the first time, you take out a load of horrible 2d Bandits, with no lighting or shadows.... you go down the staircase (which by the way you cannot see through as it is solid blocks for steps), you turn the corner and some text pops up on your screen
.... LOUD ROAR ....
.... ALMOST TRANSPARENT CREATURE RUNS TOWARDS YOU ....
.... SORRY YOU CANNOT SEE HIM, WE HAD TO MAKE HIM COMPLETELY INVISIBLE ....
.... BECAUSE OUR GAME ENGINE CANNOT DO THOSE KINDS OF LIGHTING EFFECTS ....
.... SCARY THOUGH ISN'T IT? ....I have not said Dues Ex or any other game is not worth playing.
Basically when I try older games, I just don't feel the immersion I do in modern games. Its the same reason why I mostly play First Person Games, seeing an isometric viewpoint and clicking on your character/army breaks all immersion.
To me immersion is key, if that is broken by either graphics or gameplay I lose interest. I do agree that "graphics ho" is a good description for me, I just stopped and looked at this last night, and have to say without these visuals Fallout 3 would be less of a game than it is.

Edit: OK let's get this one back on topic.... which do you prefer?

I am thinking about a mod to remove most of the paper indoors. There is seriously too much, unless in Fallout 3's alternate future newspaper was used as carpet..... thoughts?
