Ok. So, blowing up mountains was fun but the local work just wasn't doing it for us. I've been making $400 a week. Tina about $700. We got an offer from a truck line to go from close here to where we live to Atlanta, Georgia and back which we can do in four days for $2500 week. Three days off and we bring the truck home. The company is in Arkansas and wanted to fly us out for the 2 day orientation but I said no. No TSA for me thank you very much. So they are paying for a car which we are picking up today and heading out tomorrow. 1700 miles. We leave tomorrow morning and should arrive Sunday evening. Was scheduled to work today with my explosives fun but took a sick day. First time I have taken a day off and nobody was surprised anyway

It sounds like a good offer, I'd take to job if i could drive trucks/ had license for it.

Birds are starting to sing early in the mornings and late evenings ... sounds nice. If only people on the night out and drunkards in the morning would be quieter.

Anyhoo, if the work will support you and you find it likable enough, then all's fine ... for most part anyway. Though in the end, being as is, best words one can really offer are 'best of luck' and 'may time be kind to you'.

So far so good. 4k miles so far and got home at 2 this morning. We start our run to Atlanta on Wednesday at 1pm and home again same time.

So far, so good. Four days to get to Atlanta and back. Then off two to three depending on the week. Truck runs well but doesn't go over 65mph as promised so we need to get that fixed. Other than that, really going smoothly How are things on your side?

Let's see. Been a few days. Home again from our run to Atlanta but this time went to Memphis first. Lots of rain. LOTS!!!!!

Meeting up with the Atlanta team has been working well. We drive to Big Springs, TX and back twice one week and three times the next week. We'll see how long this sweet deal lasts

Just made a run and laying over for a couple hours. Thought we'd drop by the house for a minute then back to Texas. All is well.

From the place i occasionally work at, 60 euros vanished into thin air, sure it is not exactly a big sum but still ...
Every single god damn time some good will has built up, BLAM, some twits muck it all up again.

This is so not helping my negative disposition towards people and social interaction.

Hang in there DT. Sometimes things happen that are just beyond our control and all we can do is take deep breaths. Have some chocolate. A nice glass of wine. Listen to some music....

Sorry to hear what happened, Dark Templar. No amount of money is small when it's earned with hard work. Last year an ATM swallowed some money, didn't give me money prompting error of sort, but somehow the amount (which was not received) was still dropped from account! I still feel bitter when I remember. So I understand how you feel.
But also I join and agree with what Rock says. Wise words.

True enough ... that incident aside though, it is getting increasingly difficult to keep composure. I can't even use public transport without getting annoyed and feeling somewhat ill afterwards and there even more things that have started to get under my skin.
To top everything off, this morning for the first time in i don't know in how many years, actual tears were shed. Things resembling my own situation have started to have noticeable effects ... how so very unpleasant.


Bloody hell, actual communication is so damn difficult. Maybe if i'm lucky i'll end up simply as an old grump.
