Belated holiday greetings and hopefully they went well.

In recent times i have noticed a decrease in my willingness to interact even via the relative comfort of the internet ... kind of seem that things have taken a nose dive despite being fully aware that there are indeed some issues.
That is not to say that i lack interaction entirely, granted they are mostly confined inside this silly cranium

So, Tina is still on vacation LOL. I recently went back to work though. Local job shuttling overseas containers and deliveries. The company is probably where you are wherever you are because they are global. DHE. This is my third week so we'll see how it goes. Pretty rough first two weeks. Put a complaint into Safety about dispatch pushing too hard. LA traffic is no joke and that in itself is enough stress without being pushed along.

Well, least it sounds like a stable employer. The last company my old man worked at went bankrupt.
As for cargo haul related stress, ever had an instance where you were forced just sit there with it because some shmuck at the client end forgot to pay, so now you're just stuck there, not allowed to unload, while the whole schedule for the day gets shafted.

Actually, one time Walmart Distribution Center here in California desert refused a load of potato chips because I wouldn't tell them how many bags were in the trailer (it was on the bill of lading). I never care about that stuff. Only thing I care about is how much the load weighs. Nothing more. I don't care what the product is at all really. We just took it to our yard 50 miles away and it had to be re-delivered. That cost somebody their job maybe.

A demotion at the very least.
Sure, it is nice when the driver knows the ´whats?' of whatever they're hauling but unless specified, they shouldn't be expected care about much else other than regulations pertaining work schedule and road rules, it's up to the receiver/client to confirm that everything that is supposed to be there, is there, and in the correct quantities ... that is just basic stuff for avoiding liability in case of misconduct or whatever.

Exactly! Well said. Driver would be responsible to deliver the goods safely within time frame under particular road, weather and environmental circumstances, as far I would believe., rest should be between the buying and selling departments of respective companies. Everyone has their own responsibility, but seems some people at the receiving office try to load theirs onto the others, on the drivers.
One would think that being a driver would be cause less headache, but the reality is certainly far from it. Seems any human connection at work is a potential for trouble no matter how perfectly you do your work.

So true. Mostly receivers treat us pretty well. Then you get a dick or two but oh well. I mean, it said right on the bill of lading what was in the trailer. I just don't look at that LOL.

Too bad for the wildfires in California. I hope everything is alright for you and your family over there Rock!
Also it seems there are a lot of political games ( some disguised, some not, as usual) going on over there as well.
Hurricanes, too.
No good news from the US for a long time.

In my part, seemingly each one small, but a lot of irritating problems, but when all add up, well, they take a bit of toll, hah. That's life, usual.
