It's not too bad really. We weren't prepared for the weather when we got out here but will be next winter. We have our bedroom in a 10 by 14 metal shed. And we just put up a 16.5 foot bell tent from White Duck. This thing is HUGE All our computer stuff is in here. We're in about $11k now on the three separate solar sysems. One makes ice all day. One runs the three small chest freezers. And the newest 4.8Kwh system just runs our laptops although we will be buying an evaporative cooler soon. The sun is our best friend right now Also, Friday we went to get mail and gas was $6.09 gallon. Car had a flat so used the truck Oh well. We're retired

Despite dealing with everything from zero and against what the nature throws at, it is certainly a great achievement.
Your descriptions remind me of some scientific research centres build in wilderness, rather hi-tech and all

What's going on? What's everybody doing? Haven't gamed in a LONG time with the moving and all. I miss FATRAPS mods. Anyways, getting up at six in the morning here to 85 degrees. Well over a hundred daily. Bought a HUGE Honeywell evaporative cooler which was $429 but would have been worth every penny of a thousand! Cools our Whiteduck 16 foot round bell tent nicely.

I can't play games much nowadays, either. We have some long due necessary refurbishments that need to be handled; though not at the scale of building a full settlement that you both are dealing with over there!
Btw, your accommodation quarters look quite high-tech, not joking, though it's technically a tent, but it's a highly developed one it seems. Air cons are must at hot climates. Surprisingly here is getting very hot at times, too, global warming.

Things seem to be getting a more permanent, settled, appearance.


We had a very big heat wave here, too. As if competing with California almost.
Temperatures hit 42C out of London and inside city they hit 42C. First time ever in Britain's history.
Dozen areas in London suburbs, including buildings, caught fires due to the grass and bush fires around.
We all almost got heatstroke and certainly aircon sales spiked

Update. Got kicked off our land. Bought a house 4 miles away. Stupid code enforcement wanted us to put a septic system on our property to live there even though we had NO RUNNING WATER!!! Now we have 7 acres here in Arizona and one acre with a 3 bd 2 bath 1400 sq ft manufactured home. And a mailbox. And trash service. And water and electric. Guess we're back in society or something. Oh, and A STUPID SEPTIC SYSTEM LOL

Update. Got kicked off our land. Bought a house 4 miles away. Stupid code enforcement wanted us to put a septic system on our property to live there even though we had NO RUNNING WATER!!! Now we have 7 acres here in Arizona and one acre with a 3 bd 2 bath 1400 sq ft manufactured home. And a mailbox. And trash service. And water and electric. Guess we're back in society or something. What a turn of events, that's what people are calling Red Tape , all bureaucratic hell labyrinth!!
I hope all turns out well and resolve in a positive ways.

All good. Glad you're better. I know how miserable it is. We're loving our new home. Still moving all our STUFF from the other property and all the solar has to be set up but getting it done one project at a time. Got all water leaks fixed and now have running cold water. Still working on whole house hot water but do have a very nice hot shower set up. And Tina is loving cooking out of the WIND LOL

Just completed the main PC and laptop upgrade to Windows 10 from 8.1, as MS has stopped supporting Windows 8.1
It was not without glitches, maybe my luck, but after hours of configuration, it seems things have settled, fingers crossed.
Not quite fan of Windows 10 though, but that's the way things going now.
