Thanks guys,

I have a confession to make, that wave of vapour, was supposed to come out horizontally, and it did in the particle editor

It was supposed to travel in a circle at ground level, a bit like the blast wave of a Nuclear Missile, I was aiming for a mini nuke effect!! Still, it looks pretty cool like that... I can try and fix it if you think the orginal intention would look better??

NW - (Part response to e-mail) I'll drop you 3 APC textures in next day or so, you will definately be able to tell the difference then. The current version you have is just in slightly better condition than the APC's rotting in the zone, so unless close up, you probably would have difficulty seeing the difference.... at the moment

This one looks very cool actually. As far as I've seen on the videos Utube, etc, this spherical pre-detonation-smoke constitutes rightly to the expected visuals of a micro nuclear/depleted u tipped ammunition detonations. Very cool. First particles, light effect, flying away, then the air/energy bubble expanding in a split second surrounded with a lining of smoke... then fire and all... great :thumbright:

I'm posting video again, needs to be seen over and over and appreciated. :thumbright:

getting close to ACPs? Is this close enough? :D
it's real in-game footage. Photo taken split second before the damn thing fired at me. I quickly back down, 2 medkits, then from further back threw a missile... end of story. :rr:
(sorry, I couldn't help boasting for a second. I'm human after all)

Yup, you're right there busetibi :) brilliant, cinematic quality effects, and I'm not joking. It's Hollywood quality. Thumbsup to EggChen :thumbright:
I'll put the new vid in my sig as a clip from the forthcoming patch.

About the zombies in Horror-Time: As we have a "Non-Horror Time" so raising the number of zombies in two Horror times at a certain percentage is reasonable, after all people played it at least once and got experience with zombies and got used to deal with them, so they may welcome a bit more zombies to test their skills. However, I need to make a balance, because if zombies too many and powerful, they kill everybody, all NPCs. Once they turned newbie Village a "secured base2 for them and game stopped spawning Stalkers there, and the Stalkers in Cordon stop going to the village... too much danger, it's the AI.

As NPCs are better armed since 2.4, they can still deal with more zombies. Wolf and fanatic carry gatling gunss for tthis purpose anyway (When Wolf moves to other areas later, he continues with the control of zombie -and other nuisance in the Zone- :) )

But, the problem is, if I start raising the zombies in Horror times, I may be forced to make this coming v2.5 edition as a full mod upload. Current gamedata is 780 Mb and more stuff is coming in. A well-compressed set up can only be reduced to around 280-300 Mb. Stiil big upload and more importantly, a big download. I'm thinking the possibility of keeping it still in the confines of a patch, though. We'll see. :)

Thank you everybody for all the enthusiasm and continuing interest. :)

the last thing I want is to cause problems, would increasing the number of Horror Times be just as painful (as in patch size) as upping the numbers of zombies/mutants in Horror Time?
excuse my ignorance on this as I fully admit I have no idea when it comes to making mods or writing scripts, as I'm just a humble player :)

As long as we players are in here making requests - how 'bout a Dragonov with variable zoom.... or go the other way with a Mosin-Nagant? Just thoughts, mind you :thumbleft: you can both tell me to :bootyshake: if you want.

Hey, buddy don't show too much modesty. :) Great ideas (and help) are coming as I always recognised. ncreasing the number of Horror times and/or the number of zombies come to one same question: because the player chooses his/her Horror game choice -out of available three options- while setting up the game from the main mod installation (without patched, it's still 2.0) then I wouldn't want to override their choice by imposing a Horror time -in fact an increased one- considering that they might've actually chosen a "Non_Horror" version.

But you've given me an idea. I need to make a "options menu" setup for the patch, while it should not mess with the choices made previously on and during the main mod setup, it could however offer another option: "EXTREME"

More zombies
More powerful zombies
Stronger and better equipped NPCs
(those who are not neutral/friend to you may make you sorry for it :) )
More frequent Blowouts
More mutants, which also means more Firebites
Higher prices
Less ammo availability
Enemies are sharper-shooters
...and maybe a few more things

Well, all those previous 3 choices will remain, and no one has to choose the "EXTREME" version.
But those who may wish it at any time, then it'll be there to take the challenge.
It may just put another week to the "production process" :)

I hope somethings else do not come up and force me to postpone the inclusion of this option. :)

fiznerpin1962

variable zoom is not an easy option at the moment, it's coded into the engine, I'm still trying to figure out a work around (though I haven't given it a priority)
I don't know how Mosin-Nagant plays, heard it but never played it. Could you elaborate?

Nightwatch - You can do variable zoom, but you have to use a hacked dll file that was included in Zenobian mod... it was used on the old style FN2000 to give it variable zoom, and target acquisition, like the binocs.

I don't use it personally as it is a core SoC file, in the folder level above the gamedata. Kany used that weapon in the last version of OL, but did not use the dll file, and removed the variable zoom and target facilities.

yes I have that weapon (the same type weapon) but it's inactive as I don't use the dll file you refer. My current FN2000NW SPX also has (initial) properties ready, some of which still on the ltx, but those props not active either. I'm not so enthusiastic to use the dll file. (also, frankly I don't see it as a very important option in the game. It'd be nice maybe, but then again, it'd be accused of being to easy... catching the target easier and locking on it.)
Still... things may change, ideas may change :) maybe a workaround without dlls, or who knows maybe with dll even. But in this version, no, no variable zoom. :)

Thanks fiznerpin1962,
it's a great info on Mosin-Nagant, it was very useful. :)
37 million produced, wow, should be one of the most widely and longest used rifles in history. It has its own impressive history.

I'm glad to see that you've found the mod replayable again and also I'm very happy that the game is running smoothly for you. :)

Chasing the dogs with knife?? We all would like to see those photos :)
Don't forget to capture PDA stats towards the end of a game, and get into the Players Corners with stats, too. Also those oictures will feature as well.
(I'm awfully busy with the patch, it's gone 2.5 now... I'll put the new pictures a bit later on the site.)

Ok i posted all the pictures in my thread in the journal section.

Im happy too that the game decided to suddenly not crash at that bit. Guess the problem may of been over heating for the graphics card. Hopefully it and my memory gets replaced at christmas with better ones.

I only have one picture available for now but i have some kind of addiction to doing crazy things. Bring on the bloodsuckers for me to knife!

Im not sure when this game will be finished as i like to take my time and explore (i suppose everyone does this don't they?) My explores take a very long time to do and right now i am going to try and beat the controller and bloodsucker record killing. What were they again i seem to of forgotten. Well the controller one was like 400 wasnt it and i believe no one made a bloodsucker record. Nightwatch can i do a PDA stats screen for like each checkpoint i get to in my game. Like completing the main storyline/quest is a checkpoint and i post my pda stats then and then much later on i may do another one if i dont get bored of the game then.

Oh and Nightwatch any chance of making Arnie the arena guy stronger like you did with Mole and the others? It seems like he dies too easily on my game.

And as requested the chasing dog picture with knife:

Great picture, LOL :D I haven't chased a dog with a knife before...
I'll check your other pictures that you posted on Balious thread, now, I'm just about go out for an hour like.

You're right, exploring is where you get the most taste in this mod, as things change suddenly, the game throwws at you different groups of enemies, many stashed that are fileld different things continuously, well... a long list. So you don't need to hurry in order to provide an end game PDA stats photo. And it'll have more kill stats on it , the longer you play.
Yes, you can cature your stats at any time, checkpoints will be a good idea, for you to see your progress, if you wish. We'll put the highest stats picture on the Players Corner.

On Arnie, Ok I can make him a bit stronger, without upsetting the balance of powers among others.

Good news also that you're getting your hands on to a new set of Graphics cards and RAMs soon. :) Yes, overheating is one of the biggest problems that affects GPU very adversely, and leads to a chain of problems. With new stuff, sure you'll get a better gaming experience. Check your PC case, mobo, card, CPU temps. If too high, you'd like to put one or two fans or change the fans to keep the componants cooler.:)
We'll be back soon.

Hopefully my parents actually do give me it.

About the checking whole pc case thing im not sure how to do. Quite surprising really seeing as i did rebuild a very crap comp at school (never powered it up to see if it runs)

I suggest everyone should chase a dog with a knife :)

Very cool software. When you start it, it HDD, graphics rad, CPU and RAM pictures float on your screen and click on them to get the temperatures.

Also download SiSoftware Sandra, it will tell you everything about your system. It's world class number 1 in its field. There's free version avaliable:

Thanks for that nightwatch.

Ok i continued my stalker game and entered WT. I was doing the mission to save kruglov and as soon as i killed every merc in the area so he would talk to me. And after he says whatever you say marked one speech a helicopter comes out of no where and shoots him exactly the same time as he finishes the speech. There was me just standing right by him the next he was assassinated by a sniper helicopter. I wonder this day why it did not go and aim for me. This gave me pain so much knowing kruglov is worth more killing then me :mozilla_cry:

So people do you think its worth the time to save kruglov or just continue with the quest to get to the other guy in yantar.

Also i have more pics and will try to live that moment and try and capture a picture
