Thanks :thumbright: I have downloaded and installed but not yet started playing when it asked me to go to internet. I was not on internet at that time. Do you have the name of the trojan. I'll call my anti-virus software provider (Kaspersky) and I'll update the database, they'll inform all the others.

Yeah i had mine for nearly a month and it only just came up that the uninstall was a virus. I never touched the Area 51 folder or touch my anti virus apart from when it told me it needs updating for a while.

Nightwatch the file seems to be called Trojan horse Generic12.HTC

Just read what it says in the virus vault and it says infected. How am i meant to uninstall Area 51 now that i have no uninstall file to uninstall it? Unless AVG is lying and trying to make me get rid of Area 51.. It said something was a virus before when it was not.

Just wait, I'll update the database Kaspeskersy and run a deep scan, rootkit, etc. AVG has been said to be prone to making more than usual number of "false flags", I don't want to advertise anything, but I trust Kaspersky more. I update the news.

Yeah as much as i need AVG i don't trust it with every single scan it does. It said ZDaemon (program that makes doom 2, 1 etc online) had a virus but it never did and im still playing that game today.

Nope. there's nothing malicious there, Area 51 is as clean as an antibiotic tablet :) Neither the uninstaller nor the whole file raised any flags with Kaspersky. I checked, they don't even know it. It appeares there's nothing like that other than a creation of AVG itself (possibly) by malfunctioning.

Are you using the Free version of AVG?
There are some reports that Free version of AVG is giving false flags as Trojan horse Generic12.HTC on a range of programs as well as on Area 51.

So, I'm satisfied with the result. :)

AVG once found my Stalker exe had a virus, its prone to the odd incorrect definition, but hey, it's free!!

I have installed and uninstalled Area 51, no problems at all.

Oh and I uninstalled it because I got bored pretty quickly.

yeah, time to time they all do, a fw months back Kaspersky give an alart on on eof the U3 flash drive portable software, I contacted Kaspersky _i have to acknolwledge it here, they're fast- they replied to me in an hour saying it was a false alert and updated the database accordingly. But the thing happens for all. :)

Well, I'm damned impressed. I ordered a DVD ROM from NEWEGG yesterday at noon. I chose UPS free shipping and today, it came. WOW is all I can say.

Lucky you, you've got a very fast delivery. :iroc: :)
The most annoying thing after spending your money and buying something is to wait for the delivery companies to deliver the goods; they quite often "cannot deliver due to the traffic or else" so you need to wait another day.
