Subjects with Humorous Touch

Sorry guys for my lack of information about the game i want to find. I will try my best to remenber everthing i seen of it.

What actually is isometric view? I thought i knew the names of every view but i guess not this one.

Crusader view i meant by this:
http://hg101.classicgaming.gamespy.com/ ... r/psx1.jpg

is that what a isometric view is by anychance? Now that i look at it. It may not exactly be like that but it is kind of the same view in a way.

I believe the graphics were a little like the cut scenes from theme hospital.
http://www.old-cans.com/games/hospital/1.jpg

I think that was what the graphics had looked like. I believe the main character was wearing something blue and may of had something red on it as well (not entirely sure).

From what i remenber in the game it seemed like some prison from what i remenber but this could totally not be the case.

Also a question that i never found an answer to. How old does a game have to be to be called old? i.e when will fallout 3 be called an old game (in a year?). Is Stalker an old game now?

Sorry Balious, I don't have a clue; but you've made me curious about it now, too. :)

----

Hey Guys, You may have noticed that members panel no longer shows personal websites, this affected my website as well. It just occured to me suddenly and managed to edit the forum software (turned out to be not a big deal after all) and disabled to showing of "where from" and "website" info, as it appeared to be, some people were filling their application form and entering some sites that they wanted to advertise. Though they couldn't post before their memberhip application are activated, however the sites were still visble. This is no longer the case. Registered members will now need to display their websites -if they have one- in their sigs. Less headache for all of us. :)

News 2:
I've succesfully installed a phpBB3.3 site next to this one (this is phpBB2.x) so it's a major upgrade. phpBB people say that it offers much better features, hope so. The site is off-air at the moment, I'm configuring the long list of settings. I'll try to put a few other styles and more smileys. all those known stuff.
Then, one night, (for US, UK, and Aus zones, variable times but nevertheless such as: very late in US, Night Owls time in UK, very early in Aus type of thing) I'll temporarily lock/disable this forum and initiate moving this over there. Never done such a thing in my life, actually, before this forum, my closest involvement with forums was not more than just posting in them. :)
I'm reading a lot, and hopefully (let's see) we'll convert there. If not successfull, this board will remain to serve. :)

Damn :( hopefully i find this game one day. Maybe if there was a list of all the old pc games then maybe i could get rid of a game one by one until i find it. Unless some people can help me :)

Anyway even though i posted a topic about all the old games i got one more question to ask about a certain game here which i believe theres a film of it as well.

They in a submarine a captain i believe a woman and some other man.

One name i can think of is it came from the water or something like that.

Basically theres some big ass octopus or something. One thing i deffiantly remenber in the game is pushing the captain guy or whoever into a room with the octopus and he was banging on the door for you to open it. You do this part in a submarine i believe. I think this game may be easier to find.

Sure post your pictures, it'll be pleasure to see interesting places.

Well, this is not a forum only for modders or mainly for modders, it's a STALKER community forum, much like GSC main forum, for modders and players alike, and for those who like being in STALKER community:)

We have a thread here, on this Round Table section: "Where are you from?"
Post them there, if you want add captions, stories. You can post pictures directly into the pages/post. Check the BBCode link on left of your posting box for the guide how to post them such, if you don't have experience on phpBB forum features, but I guess you'd have after all you're teh one who's working on system securuty, what am I talking about:) but please keep them around 600x480 pixels, otherwise page stretches too much.

About the skins: That's very good to hear that you're thinking about creating some Monolith skins. I think they'll be received with great interest. Why don't you speak with jamie1992, he's done some skins before and currently working on that subject as well. (not monolith skins, though, as far as I'm aware)
------

On another note, whne you mentioned that your wife misses home. Isn't she Russian? If so, she might maybe wish to help me in on ematter, I have about one and a half page, loosely wriiten Russian game dialog from SIMBION mod. After translating several dozen pages up to now using software and brain-ware :) I got too tired, and it's very difficult to make a sense of the software translation after all. Well, if she is not available, no problems at all, just enquiring :)

Thanks Nightwatch, yes she is Russian, she used to do translations for technical documents and the like at the military factory she worked at back home. I can show her, but she hates video games, so I don't know she would do it. I can ask though. :)

I will post some pics when I get the chance, there are a lot. :) About the skinning for SoC and Clear Sky, any chance you know the tools I would need for this? Any info would be appreciated. :)

@Balious

this might help you on your quest.

What era was the game set in? Medieval, post apocalyptic? Future? I have been playing games for awhile I remember quite a few. Maybe X-COM? but that was team based.

Thanks Darkness62. If she does translation, she'll get credit on the mod's credits, of course. Though, I respect her decision if she doesn't like PC games. Anyway, for reference purposes, I'll later email you the page. :)

About the skin work, I think theer are a wide range of software can be used, from Adobe suits, Autodesk (those expensive if you don't already have them -or if you can't borrow the use of them) then I think there's Gimp and others as of free software.

You know what? I'm not the master of such works actually, so, I can suggest that you should post in "Modding Techniques" about this question and let the masters of this area answer you. very top quality people write and reply there.:)

So how high can the temperature get in Lousiana in the summer, I really want to know cause I can't stand high temperatures ( minus 30 whopee, plus 30: oh fuck I'm being slowly coocked )

Nightwatch, your forum upgrade sounds great. It does sound like a lot of work.

Thanks for the holiday wishes (though personally, I don't feel ripping off the native Americans a holiday). We're going to deep fry a turkey this year.

@Dark Templar, the temps in Louisiana are pretty mild. The humidity in the summer is what takes getting used to. When I lived there, the first three months were spent growing gills. :fish:

Thanks darkness62 that list should help me for those types of games.

The first game i said i think may of been future like but seeing as i can hardly remenber anything from it it could be somewhere else. Don't think its medieval as i deffiantly remenber seeing things they wouldnt have.

The second game i believe is in the present.

And jamie is right i didn't know what X-COM was until he told me about it. Game looks good but I can't see myself playing it and liking it. Doesnt mean i fail though jamie :) unlike you which everything beats you.

Hey Darkness,

Feel free to open yourself a thread for help, like Balious did in the Modding Techniques section. To get you started you need a program, and if you don't have Photoshop, I suggest GIMP, it is free, easy to use and very powerful. Once you install it, you need a dds plugin, which is the format Stalker uses.

GIMP
http://sourceforge.net/project/download ... mirror=ovh

DDS Plugin
http://nifelheim.dyndns.org/~cocidius/d ... -dds-win32

As an example of what you can do with GIMP check out my thread in the Journal section, or the APC thread in the Modding techniques section, or even any of my mods :

http://stalker.filefront.com/file/LR300_Skin;89408
http://stalker.filefront.com/file/Merc_ ... _Mod;89015
http://stalker.filefront.com/file/4_PDA_Skins;86115
http://stalker.filefront.com/file/Rooki ... ture;86045

One thing you can try when you get into it is the jigsaw technique I use a lot. Open a vanilla texture, and erase parts, leaving highlights like kneepads, belt buckles, belt etc. Then open the original texture again, leaving just the cloth, etc, etc. Then you can mess around with individual parts, and paste them over the top of the original skin. It can take time, and can be very fiddly but you can get some nice effects. Look at this...

http://www.mediafire.com/imageview.php? ... gd&thumb=5

I did it in roughly this order (cannot remember exactly) :

- Recoloured basic Stalker suit grey (whole texture)
- Applied my camo pattern (whole texture)
- Added black chest armour
- Added red highlights to chest armour
- Added Duty badges, and other highlights, like the bags they wear on their thighs
- Re-added belt, gun and holster
- Added the black armour patches to the rest of the suit, like on shoulders

So all in all I probably had 5 or 6 "resource" textures, which were transparent except for the item I wanted. So, chest armour, belt, badges, etc. So even though I washed my camo pattern over the whole texture, I added detail back over the top for quite a neat finish.

Thanks rockingmtranch :) If the transport/conversion works, it'll be a forum with even more features.

Louisiana, that humid, ha? Wow! I know Miami is horribly humid, soaking wet in dry (What a description :) ), Louisiana, too? Though very good music and food, as everyone knows even before going there.

Hey everyone! It has been a looong time since I had a chance to pop in here... I hope everyone is doing well!
My job has kept me pretty busy. By the time I get home I have just enough energy left to shower and then stumble to bed! We have been working 6 days a week at the machine shop and we are still filling orders. I have no idea when we will get back to normal hours... but on the other hand, the overtime pay is pretty nice! \:D/

Anyhow, a Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! See y'all soon (I hope!)
