A rather fine day I'd say, my kinda day

This beats all..at red forest, took out the sniper @ the bunker (and all the rest of the monolithians), survived a mega - horror time, got to the wall by the two sniper towers. Here comes the blow-out! Run my ass back to the bunker by the broken fence & try to enter the ketpad code & sizzle pop - I'm dead with red bleeding icon.
I have really had about enough... ](*,)

Where are the folders which contain the artifact textures and particle effects

fiznerpin1962

You seem to be enjoying the game to the full, with its full kick and bite :mozilla_wink:
PS: as a side note, it's better to wait for the "Red Forest blow-out" around the Sniper Bunker for easy dive in when it comes.

In the coming version, when playing the EXTREME mode, the codes to enter the bunkers (that sniper bunker and the ammo bunker inside Brain Scorher) will be different and cannot be obtained from PDAs or corpses. I've put the codes written on some things/places, like Res Evil style, so they need to be found before entering the Red Forest level. :mozilla_wink: Or, it waits: B-( :ymdevil: :D

Artifact DDS files in in modes and vanilla, are in textures\artifact folder and and particle effects are in gamedata\particle.xr.

very strategic positioning of the barrels there at the stairs/platforms.
I see you've made it the the bunker in time. Nice picture.

Damnit I want to play this mod more and more everyday after I come in here and see the awesome screenshots. Im just afraid my computer won't be able to handle the new versions. And I can quite clearly say I will earn the achievement of having the most deaths  . I just don't know if I should be proud of that or not.

Well for me its not the processor that is the problem but the memory and graphics card. 1gb of ram and geforce 8400 GS.

The problems are simple as may be running too slow and random graphic errors that had caused 95% of my crashes. This is what my stalker looked like in may/june last year before it got fixed.

Anyway more on topic towards gameplay. This mod seems to be getting harder and harder everytime I see it. It may actually take me a year just to complete the storyline and then another year just to do what lots of people like to do on stalker and explore and live the life of one.

Also quick question. Anyone ever left it on the death screen (game over) after dying. Strange things happen.

Hey Balius - nice video. Looks playable... but that's not what they mean by an automatic weapon... =)) I kill myself!

Seriously though, buddy - my specs are very high, but I still get stutters & hiccups while playing - the mod has a lot of awesome stuff to process. Just roll with what you got and get in the zone, stalker!

just for curiosity's sake:

Intel pentium D - 2.8 Ghz/2.8 Ghz
Silencer for Dell 500watt power supply
Nvidia Gforce 8800 gs overclocked
4 Gb RAM
soundblaster Xtreme music sound card
playing max resolution with all settings maxed - maybe that's part of the secret to the awesome screenshots, but I still have some "issues" from time to time.

and thats the great thing about this mod and why I love playing it, it is hard!
lots of mods have been made for SoC (-|
but very few can give you the challenge that NEWSA brings, and it forces you to think outside of the box to meet and defeat the problems that arise, of course you can always run around with vanilla for years, but where's the challenge in that?
you know where every artifact spawns, and where all the mutes are, yea great I have twenty mamas beads and hundreds of batteries and my stashes are full of weapons and armour, but with NEWSA it's totally random, I'd like to see these guys who say playing mods is cheating because you get good weapons etc, try their hands at NEWSA, my bet is they'de be bitching before they got out of the rookie ville saying "oh it's too hard"
fkn pussies. X(

sry, I need to lie down and take my pills after that little outburst.

and No, when I die I keep hitting P till my last save loads

balious - Loved the video, especially the AKSU on the bonnet!

Was that OL you were playing? I only ask as that is the exact spot I put an APC in my game... great minds think a like I suppose.

Well if I get this PC up and running in time for my first go at NEWSA it should be fun. I receive £250 in PC world vouchers tomorrow, and if I can find some way to cash them in or use them on their website I can get the parts I need. The stores have utter rubbish stock, no point going there.

busetibi - I always remember the hard times in vanilla, it was different to the normal view of what makes a game "hard". I remember seeing a pack of dogs and thinking "I need the ammo, my gun gets worse with every shot and I cannot repair it, and this armour is so fooked it would hurt if they even licked me". So I skirted round them and just ran for the safety of the Duty outpost. Most mods have aimed for a different kind of difficulty, more enemies, more guns, etc. More fun as well I am sure!!

I am looking forward to trying some new tactics with NEWSA.
