I just made NPP (again) - I'm gonna have to figure out some neat things to do with all the depleted plutonium rounds I'm going to end up with soon... :-? -- IF I can make it to the garage doors without having a stroke! ](*,)

Oh well... all I can say is - :ymbringiton:

Yes Eggchen that was OL i was playing. What version I have no idea.

All the talk of NEWSA from everyone is making me want to download and install 2.4. Even though I am not really good at stalker in general this will make my gaming life 5000x harder.

Maybe we all could have some kind of award system for just us all. Say having the most controller kills which most likely belong to busetibi unless someone has beaten his score. Most deaths I will take once I get NEWSA again. There can be lots of awards for this

Just a question. How do people know how many times they died or something? Anyone could easily make up a random number and why they do that I don't know. Not that anyone here would do that right :-?

As my mind is a little weak from not playing STALKER for a few weeks perhaps anyone here could refresh my memory on the mutants if they all hate each other on this mod. Makes sense that the dogs will attack the cats. Of course not dogs v dogs.

I've got no idea how many times I've died playing SoC either in vanilla or mods.
I dont think you can keep tabs on that can you?
I've seen Boars attacking those big white things (you get an eye) dunno what they call them, and I've seen Fractures attack snorks.
whether this was in NEWSA I can't remember tbh, as I tend to kill everything and concentrate on that alone.

Zombies attack pseudodogs & vice versa, fleshes( white things :thumbright: ) attack boars, boars attack anything, zombies attack anything, bloodsuckers & dwarves the same...
Basically it's kill or be killed - and anything is fair game - just the way I like it! Incidentally, I have strolled right by firebites & zombies battling it out many times. They are too busy w/ each other to even notice me....

Nightwatch, I have been looking for this mod on Filefront for 20min. I searched for you, the mod, nothing. Google found the patch and from that I worked back to you and finally found it. Maybe you need to post links?? Your website just says get it from Filefront, and that didn't work very well.

Hey Grump642, thanks for the interest  and I'm sorry that reaching the mod download caused you a lot of trouble. I'm neglecting nowadays to include my sig under the posts, OK, I shouldn't.

Maybe there was a glitch at the time when you checked the mod's website, but it's currently working. When you hold the cursor on that blue skull-type icon that says N-S on it, it turns red now as it supposed to be and it's a link to Filefront, now it's working.

However, after all your trouble, to make it a bit easier at the least, I'm posting the links:

Website: http://www.gamerspedia.net/

Filefront Nightwatch01 profile (folder) :
http://hosted.filefront.com/Nightwatch01

NEWSA+SIMBION_twk_v2.0_p1.exe (main body)
http://files.filefront.com/NEWSASIMBION ... einfo.html

NEWSA.SIMBION.twkPatch2.4.exe
http://files.filefront.com/NEWSASIMBION ... einfo.html

New version 3 is about to be ready, compiling the EXTREME mode files, and waiting for the recent translations to come from Russian students.

Now that I think about it this mod doesn't seem all that popular. I rarely see it mentioned apart from on here. Either this mod is too hard no one wants to play it or everyone thinks they too good for it. Those were just random guesses.

Im tempted to download 2.4 of NEWSA but seeing as 3.0 is very close to be ready im struggling to hold out the stalker urge and till its released.

Also Nightwatch just a suggestion but maybe it be a good idea to put the links on the first page in your first or second post just incase anyone has problems looking for it like Grump642.

Btw that new explosion effects are very good. I just need that gun and blowing up APC's is going to start :D

Well, the thing is I'm not trying at all to advertise this mod by opening threads on other available forums. (In fact, I even haven't visited the old GSC thread for a few weeks now)

I've always maintained that, as for the reason that I first started modding it, I like this mod a lot and that this mod is also for those who really want to play. I'm not in any competition of popularity, as I do not like pop music either. This mod was not intended for mass players as it's really very hard.
Hard-core, select players seem to enjoy this mod quite a lot, and that's more important for me.

I have not submitted it to Filefront general downloads yet, it's currently on my own Filefront folder.

Still... we have reached... and passed the 1000 downloads last week (the set up on Filefront is the third set up and it stands -even at this late stage while the version 3 is expected very soon- for 374 downloads by today by this hour. (though this is nothing when compared to some Ghost Recon (OGR) mods that have made over 13-14 000 downloads, which I also enjoyed a lot) People still downloading version 2/2.4, even though I've already put it on the mod website that the version 3 is imminent. I'm very happy (more than happy) with the guys who consistently follow this mod, play it and enjoy it. This is very big pleasure for me, and it was all I wanted, Thanks guys. :salute:

Main thing is, I found it. I heard everyone talking about how hard it was on a sys, so I OC'ed my E8400 to 3.78Gz, mem at 1066 w/4,4,4,14 timings, cranked my 4850 up a little more, and STILL had to lower settings a little. Wow. So far I like it. Normally the first thing I do, when using a new mod, is up the weapon damages and tweek a little. Not needed here, I'm getting killed enough!
Edit: Just checked your nwebsite and the link is working now. Makes it a lot easier to get.

Ok my desire to play STALKER NEWSA couldn't be delayed any longer so I downloaded it to 2.4. Now after many deaths I finally get on a row of survivng quite a while killing bandits killing a military guy that ambushed me then decided to go out and kill some mutants.

Heres some screenshots and a little story of what happened.

During my hunt of mutants there were a few around like boars and blind dogs. Now after quite a serious close up battle with a boar I heard some big footsteps but for me to do anything it was too late after I had turned around to face this:
http://i39.tinypic.com/2a76ikx.jpg

It seriously wanted to headbutt me to death:
http://i41.tinypic.com/102nvde.jpg

And heres the result of those headbutts:
http://i41.tinypic.com/20l0zee.jpg

And to my shock it rushed off to some mutants further away:
http://i42.tinypic.com/2j5jig7.jpg

Basically after this battle I feel worthless that I was killed by a rushing pseudogiant that I just seem to be in the way of.

Anyway I am now taking advice from the pros of needing a weapon to kill the vehicles. Starting with getting the money for them and how long it took you if you can remenber if not then just tell me a good enough weapon to kill them and easiest way to make money

Damn this mod is addicting I feel much better now that I played it for a tiny bit.

Nice shots Bal, how about a screenshot for every death, thats an easy way to count them :thumbright:

Of course no need to post them all, but some may be amusing, I always liked the death I had playing Run & Gun, me, dead (obviously) surrounded by about 50 tushkano... damn that chainsaw.

Back on topic, nice timing NW, I'm hoping weekend after next to be up and running. As my first go of NEWSA I think I'll give extreme a miss....

Nice pictures, indeed, Balious  There's good touch of humour in them, too. Also, it's good to see you starting the mod.

In order to get rich quickly,or quicker, you'd better kepp collecting mutant pieces that you'll find in their bodies. like dog tails, boar legs, etc, e.g. that pseudogiant's brain would earn you 8000 RU at the trader or selling it to your comrade Stalkers. Collect all the weapons and other stuff from the bodies and from the ground when you see them dropped. You don't need to take them traders only, you can sell them to other Stalkers, too.

Also, artifacts of course earn you a lot of money, as well as the side missions. You'll get kitted up soon enough, don't worry it will get even harder, so even heavy weapons will feel light. :ymdevil:
----------------

EggChen
Thanks. Compiling the EXTREME files one by one now and then I'll need to put the translations into the strings one by one again and a last test run. So, you won't be late.
-----------------

edit:
Thanks audioave10  (I just saw your post came at the same time) I hope your new components serve you well.
Oh, btw, I think everybody would like to hear this as well: Escape (Cordon's name in the game files) will live up to its name. Particularly at one point, a trap is waiting; never impossible of course, but enough to make you swear at your screen. Poor screen. :ymdevil:
