Nightwatch thanks for the advice. Although I hate the way you said that cordon will truly be escape. Isn't it meant to be the weakest area? If thats the case with this mod im gonna need to cheat my weight and money to get good equipment like I have done before.

Damnit why didn't I pick up that brain when I had the chance. I needed that extra 8000 RU.

Anyway heres the pseudogiant's death. And no I didn't just shoot at him this happened instead:

They were fighting with the pseudogiant going on a rampage all over cordon. I thought it was time a new mutant became the best. So I shot at the pseudogiant but as I was doing it the firebite pseudodog whatever you call it decided to do something unexpecting to the pseudogiant:

Thats right the pseudogiant went flying to his death. The zone really is full of unexpected moments with fierce fights.

Also im a little confused at what just happened on my game. I was in Sid's bunk buying/selling/questing with him the usual things when I hear a chopper outside. I thought oh god damn it there goes the rookie village. So I quickly head outside and get the gun that Wolf gives you after you speak to him after rescuing Nimble. I fired lots of bullets into the helicopter and all I could hear was radio chatter comnig from it. After a little I decided to run into the rookie village (I was cowering at Sid's door) when I saw that about two rookies, Tolik, Nimble and Wolf chilling. I then no longer hear the helicopter so I run back to where I was before and there was no sign of it. Anyone got any good explantions of what happened? Only thing I thought of is it gave up and went home but does the AI really do that with helicopters?

Most of the russian side quests for me anyway are artifact findings. Im sure the one sid gives you after you talk about the first main quest is an artifact as well as i remenber seeing that mission completed when I picked up a random artifact.

I actually do like the rewards you see when you take a quest. Killing some stalker (sales representive) gets me 2x mama beads off sid. Now those will be helpful :D

Compiling the EXTREME files one by one now and then I'll need to put the translations into the strings one by one again and a last test run.

I think everybody would like to hear this as well: Escape (Cordon's name in the game files) will live up to its name. Particularly at one point, a trap is waiting; :ymbringiton: :wav:

yes it really does that!.
if you're being bugged by choppers and haven't got the fire power to take them out, just hide for a minute or two and the chopper will bug out and leave you alone.

dont forget, once you get the transmute recipe(sp?) for some artifacts it will boost the artifacts protection (esp the mama beads)

Watch the vertical shockwave (21 seconds is a good example)... it was an accident in that new particle I did you buddy (it was meant to be horizontal) but it seems to be pretty accurate!!

Actually I noticed that your explosion effect produces a horizontal wave when the missile is fired at a full-ground target, by which I try to mean that when I fire it directly at a point on the ground such as targeting points next or nearby some bandits, for example. Then , I noticed that it also gives a horizontal push-wave. When the missile is exploded on an APC, then the bulk of the effect becomes more of a sphere, which is visually quite correct. And when any of the NW310Sp or NW350SP missiles are used in the evening/night dimmed light conditions, the initial (nuclear-produced) :thumbright: "flash" becomes even more apparent.

Im back from another great stalker adventure. Had my first crash too but nothing to do with the mod as there was nothing in the log and it crashed after i pushed my screenie button and my contacts button so it could of been the contacts bug some ppl had.

I have a few questions but can't really ask them without the screenshots I took. So you all have to bare with me as I post them tomorrow as I don't have any time right now.
One question that doesnt require screenshots is why isn't there a stash thingy in streloks place in apro underground? Im sure there was some there before not my mind playing tricks on me. And if there is any chance of where it is as i have looked everywhere down there.

A question that does require my screenshot is I had some light thing under me. Not sure if it was my artifacts giving me it but it kind of distracted me.

Also another question. Has anyone seen neutral/friendly stalkers (rather its loners, duty, freedom etc not the bandits or military) down in the underground places like agro?

Ah, that explains it, the blast wave is relative to the surface it hits... so you hit the vertical side of a vehicle it goes upwards, hit the horizontal ground, it spreads at ground level. I always wondered why it came out different to the editor, but guess I'll get to see it in game soon *crosses fingers in the hope that PC World vouchers can be exchanged for Internet items in store*.

I see that you also whacked them all those monolits bas***ds (as they are referred in the game :) ) in front of the coded door.
There will be opportunity to increase the death count at that spot if you were to play the EXTREME mode in version 3.0, because this time you will need to wait there twice longer and have to deal twice the number of monoliths while waiting the door to complete decoding. :ymdevil: (sorry :mozilla_wink: )

Also a very rich loot that you've got there, this is the Stalker way, old ways of war, he who wins gets all! :-bd

(PS: Playboys were originally used to get the newly-added Level Changers info from various NPCs who seemed to have a weakness for Playboy magazines. I have cancelled this method of gaining level changers, and in your version all those new level changers in one pack, as you know, are now given by Sakharov at Yantar as a reward. -I had left the mags there for further thinking-
In the coming version 3.0, I have currently two options for them, a) either they'll be sellable to traders and Stalkers for 4000 RU, or I will remove them altogether. Waits for a last minute decision. Mechanisms for either options are ready in place and it'll take just about a minute for me to choose and activate either one option)

BaliousYou seem to be doing very well. :thumbright: (yes choppers do that, they can run away, too) You must've scared it enough even with a handgun (anyway Nite1SP is quite a powerful one) that it ran away. be careful, though; they always come back. Even if you shoot down one, another one will replace it in due time.

Stashes are in place in Strelok's place in Agro tunnels, if you mean the AKs, suit and other stuff in where you find the Flash Drive.
Also, no, no friendly or neutral Stalkers in Agro tunnels. Having said that, it's not impossible as AI is quite free and it may well happen that some such Stalkers eventually end up there while wandering around the area.

Hey Grump642, you seem to be continuing the game :mozilla_smile: Yes, some minor side missions and some (rather not-quite-useful) story telling dialogs (in current v2.4) do come in Russian in parts, though there had very significant translation work done since version 1.0 and 2.0.
In this version 3.0, along with the pre-defined program, new "even more significant" amount of translation is being done and nearing completion by the very kind courtesy of a couple of Russian Law Students who study in the UK. The 7000+ word Russian text that had remained scattered around many files, (sometimes one or two sentences in the whole very long file) are being translated. (I hope I haven't still missed one or two words here and there.)

I will name them later with great thanks, they are not modders or PC gamers and doing this just out of their kindness.

jeez, you sure carry a lot of weapons (apart from the looted FN2000NW-SPX)
when I left Pripyat for NPP all I had was the Nite 14-SP, FN2000NW SPX and the Vintar BC, which carried me through all of Freeplay, although tbh, I did have problems getting ammo for the Vintar and Nite14-SP.

At the time he had been following me because I asked him to watch me to cover my back when shooting begins so that could be the reason of getting him down there.

What could this be? It just stayed under me all of apro underground. I didn't check afterwards due to being shot at by military.

By the stash I meant a place to put my stuff in. I feel one being there is a perfect place for a little break as no one can get in there but yourself (unless someone can prove me wrong)

Also I didn't expect the controller to die in one hit was totally ready for some great action with a mind getting blown up.

And heres a screenshot of a military thinking robbing his team-mates are more important then hunting me down:
