Man... I go play Crysis for a bit and all heck breaks out here! I miss all the fun!

It is so sad that there are always a certain element of the population that has to try to make the rest unhappy.... those folks could have became part of a warm, friendly community instead of doing what they did. Oh well... can't save the world so I might as well not preach about it! :bootyshake:

EDIT:

Oh WOW! I see that Russo signed up! Welcome to the forum! I think that you will like this forum and I hope you start a thread in the Mods section about your new mod! :hello1:

I'm good with that. I just hope he don't mind when we call him a "Mean Mad Modder" with some of the scripting he does. Like when you walk into a small room and are attacked by 22 tushkanos, 2 bloodsuckers, 8 dogs,
and many other various nasties. :blackeye: :colors:

Edit: Nightwatch...you better tell FatRap to put down that chainsaw before
he comes to work. :axe:

Hey Guys, for keeping a clear piece of mind (whatever this may mean) apart from some other measures, in order to keep attackers away, from now on "the third-security-stage member authoritization" has been activated; all new members will go though a vetting process. While the membership applications of all known members of modding/players community will be cleared immediately -upon getting sure that he is the real person who uses that name of course- and (as you see) all will carry their ranks that they have at GSC forums (and other top forums if applicable) to here, new applications from persons who are not known to the community will need to be vetted carefully, and they will need to answer to the forum email and confirm their applications by their established email addresses, not by those addresses from free and no-questions asked (or we-don't-check-your-answers) email providers, those will not be accepted. All ISP providers offer email accounts and they will need to use their own paid ISPs' email accounts.
Quaity is more important than unkown quantity.
This forum will remain as a high quality forum.

Just to be clear in my own mind, ( as if that were possible ) do all off topic post go in this thread or in Round table? How off topic can we get?

I have a real crackup from PETA that you guys have to hear if you have not already. :toimonster:

Hey, NatVac, mind detailing some of your nLite tweaks? The frustrating thing about nLite is that it's nearly impossible to use with my Dell OEM disk, and I rather like not having to activate or any dumb shit like that. I'm about to reinstall Windows and could really use some help on this front, because XP is a tad heavier than I'd like. I really wish I could run Win2K, but Source games are broken on it - Win2K was pretty much their only decent workstation OS, as far as I'm concerned. Only annoying thing is that it doesn't recognize dual-head on mobile setups properly, but you can't have everything...

Ok, here goes. Forgive me if you have to buy a new monitor or keyboard.

PETA Urges Ben & Jerry's To Use Human Milk

VERMONT — People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals sent a letter to Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, cofounders of Ben & Jerry’s Homemade Inc., urging them to replace cow’s milk they use in their ice cream products with human breast milk, according to a statement recently released by a PETA spokeswoman.

“PETA’s request comes in the wake of news reports that a Swiss restaurant owner will begin purchasing breast milk from nursing mothers and substituting breast milk for 75 percent of the cow’s milk in the food he serves,” the statement says.

PETA officials say a move to human breast milk would lessen the suffering of dairy cows and their babies on factory farms and benefit human health.

I will skip the mandatory jokes about getting a new job as a milker at a dairy as I am sure you people can think of better jokes.

If this post is to off topic or something, just let me know and I will not post anymore stupid human tricks here.

Yes the Bar was moved here: The Round Table forum. 100 Rads Bar is the "main general off-topic" thread. Also other threads which are not related with Stalker Soc/Clear Sky and modding/mods can be opened here, if someone, for example wants to discuss biogenetics (just as an example). :)
100 Rads Bar was in Stalker Soc thread before, the appearance over there is just a link which brings the visitor to here. I've left there for some period of time to not to worry visitors about where the Bar had gone, until everyone gets accustomed with the new place. When we move threads/posts here, we leave shadow/link in the original place and place a note in Frontpage moved threads thread, so when people come they do not get confused trying to find the thread. :partyman:

Well, I hope to live up to everyone's expectations! This moderating stuff is new to me so all of you can give me any advice that you think I might need... or if you see something that needs attention just pop me a discreet email.

EDIT:
Hey silverpower.... I have used nLite quite a bit on OEM disks. What are you trying to do that is giving you problems?

EDIT 2:

I just finished playing Crysis for the first time.... interesting game. It was fun to play but I really don't think it is as "re-playable" as STALKER is. I kinda liked the Nano suit that regenerated everything.... that would be an easy mod to do for STALKER I think... most of the features anyhow!
I think that I'm gonna dig up all the games that I played in the past and re-play them before doing any more modding.... Doom3, HalfLife2, Far Cry, Painkiller and FEAR. Maybe get some fresh ideas that way! :thumbright:

Fatrap, replaying older games is not a bad idea.

We already know you have the Serious Sam trick of throwing huge numbers of enemies at the player down to an art form. :salute:

Hello all.

Looks like i properly have to play my old games while finding a new cheap graphics card as it seems to crash my stalker more often now.

Anyone know a good game that shouldn't be any problems for a geforce 8400 GS?

I enjoy playing games like monkey island
I like playing most games but sport really but i do like wrestling too

Fatrap & busetibi as moderators... the end of the world is nigh.

Good idea with the old games Fatrap - I found myself looking at the particle effects in BF2 recently with a "hmmm I wonder".... then I got shock paddled!

Not sure you will get many ideas from Doom, other than spawning enemies in front of and behind the player at the same time to make the game harder! Don't get me wrong I loved Doom 3 and still think its better than Half Life 2. I know I'll get slated for this but HL2 was one long buggy/airboat journey with the odd level on foot. Too heavily scripted.

Doom 3 was scripted of course, but that was meant to be, and the graphics, sound and general atmosphere drew you in. I still hear that horrible noise those little baby-flies made... mommy! My brother couldn't play the game, he got too freaked out, that says it all to me.

busetibi - Does this mean I cannot discuss my love for "the unmentionable game" at length in the forum?

Seriously though, we needed more moderators, I'm not sure about the term "safe pairs of hands", their mods and game reports have proved they are a bit unstable. At least we have another two pairs of hands to protect us from the nasty men.

Good luck guys :rr:

lol, hell yea mate, go for your life!
/gets red pen ready.
as a long time id fan boy I loved/hated Doom 3 (hated it till the duct tape mod came out) so much pretty stuff to look at but unless you had the torch on you couldn't see it!
put the torch on then get smashed by monsters coming through the walls
I really enjoyed the later levels of D3.
after my first play through I moved my machine into the spare bedroom, really got a buzz out of playing in total darkness with headphones on.
HL2, I hated the buggy and airboat, GAH!

Yep, I enjoyed it first playthrough, and I think the flashlight thing worked to increase the tension and fright factor.

Second time round with one of the duct tape mods I really enjoyed it. Played it through many times after that and did possibly my first bit of modding on that game, though was only tweaking config files.

Doom 4 is rumoured by the way

Here is an example of my least favourite thing about HL2?

"Let me get out of your way Dr Freeman..."

My response,

"HOW ABOUT JUST DOING IT RATHER THAN TELLING ME YOUR GOING TO DO IT EVERYTIME, AND DELAYING MY "ENJOYMENT" OF THIS GAME BY ANOTHER SECOND!!!! OR, ANOTHER THOUGHT, DON'T GET IN MY FOOKING WAY IN THE FIRST PLACE YOU PATHETIC EXCUSE FOR A FREEDOM FIGHTER, YOU LOOK LIKE A LIBRARIAN!!"

... sorry, lost it there.

One thing I will give the game, the Shotgun "felt" good, and taking down Striders was a tense affair when your scabbling around looking for rockets.
