Do you guys think I should just leave Kruglov to die in WT? Hes nothing but trouble for me.

Guys I have a question regarding underground areas. Say if you return to X18 for some unknown reason like during freeplay would you meet lots of different kinds of things down there? or the usual mutants? I wondered if you see bloodsuckers maybe even controllers down there.

Also on the arena. For the level I am currently on I am pretty sure its close to impossible to do with the equipment you have against these two mercs/solders. I believe its the one when the guy starts talking about the military being in the place saying theres a general in the crowd or something like that. Is it just me not being able to attack right or do other people struggle on this one?

I was dead before I entered Yantar and when I appeared thats all I saw. Yet it looks like im alive apart from the health bar and having nothing equiped. And I wasn't sure if I was moving or not.

Now I need a little expert advice on what these two parts I need are:

How on earth does the bandit end up like this upon death? Luckly I didn't come a few minutes later I hate to interupt what I would of saw with him bending over then. Least I saved the bandit the fate of not feeling anything going up his ass.. Hey im out of Dark Valley and never returning to the god damn place for as long as possible.

Anyway has anyone found the character Bullet after Dark Valley/X18? Last time I saw him he was walking away from the ambush site. The duty version of Marked One Was in the bandit base along with that trapped Duty I have yet to see them again.

That Arena fight is one of the hardest, I cannot remember Marked One's loadout, but I remember it is against two military guys wearing Skat-9M suits.

Trick is to seperate them and use cover. Headshots are a must against those suits for quick kills.

I often run to the right where there are some boxes. You can climb up on one or two so only you head is showing above the tallest box, then try and snipe them from there. There is also one set of boxes to the right where there is the smallest gap inbetween them, try kneecapping the fuckers through that gap as they approach.

Failing that there is the "coward's crate". Run left after the Arena starts and you should see a red metal crate you can crouch inside. Be patient and nail them as they pass by.

Balious - monster_body_4 is probably a defunct quest. some of them mean nothing/do nothing - the Jaw one is probably bloodsucker tentacles. If you click on the map to text box (next to job) it will usually give you a rundown on what is needed. Do a lot of ex. - wipe out bandits @ agroprom, etc. - fair money, sometimes good ammo or artifacts.

Here is my load out right before I went "to the north" (scorcher):

The groza was only along for the ride, in case I picked up some scattered ammo - didn't bother with non AP rounds. I took weapons I new there would be ammo for @ Pripryat/NPP.

All my artifacts were won by doing missions or found in secret stashes....none were purchased or traded for.
1. Fiery soul = -16 endurance -20 radiation, +200 health
2. Electrical Porcupine = -10 shock +91 endurance, -63 radiation
3. Porcupine = -18 endurance -65 radiation
4. Great-Grandma's Beads = +7 radiation +50 health, +227 endurance, -127 bleeding, +5 impact, +5 explosion, +3 bulletproof
5. 2X skin (each) = +3 radiation +10 impact, +10 telepathy, +35 chemical burn, +7 bulletproof
6. 2X Battery (each) = +30 shock, +30 telepathy
7. Dwarf's Grandma's Beads = +67 health, -10 radiation, +227 endurance, -150 bleeding, +5 impact, +5 explosion, +20 bulletproof

don't mess with the Arena - It only frustrates you. go kill/loot/search. raise good cash, find good stuff. Kick ass. :-bd

I did the monster_part4. I am not sure, but it may be the brain thing. Think I got it in AW. I take these quests, kill everything I find, and when I get the right part it lets me know! :iconbiggrin: When you see the strange line for a mini-quest, like when talking to barman, click on it and guess the answers!! Keep trying till you get it right! BIG BIG rewards!!

Balious...when you die during a level-changer you can miss the next map completely. I did that once and came out the other side UNDER
the map looking up through empty space at some trees. That's when
you hope your last save wasn't too far back.

Edit: I kept trying to open those Playboy magazines...no luck. :((

OK Balious, this is going to come off as bragging - but that's not what it's meant to be... trying to help out.

I put the stuff I am going to sell to Skinflint in my small backpack - this haul was all picked up going from Yantar trader,up into scorcher, directly to (not through) the Pripryat level changer, then through the break in the fence, then took the back way past the old Hind(?) chopper to AW - that is all

On my 2nd playthrough, I find it a lot easier. Due to knowing what to expect. Two places I had trouble were both blowout related. First was in Garbage. Soon as I came out of the level changer, a blowout hit. I ran like hell for the hanger, along with a bunch of Bandits. When I got there, the Bandits controlled it. Shit, dead meat. Serity was over at the junkyard with Bess!?!? Next problem was in Cordon. I had gone back to see the Trader and stopped off at the carpark to kill the 7 or 8 Bandits there. Just as I finished looting the last body, a blowout hit. I was in the bldg where Nimble was, so I just waited. All of a sudden, PDA flashes 17 contacts and here they come. All Bandits and all on a dead run for my hiding place. Shit. Took 3 tries, but my Newsa shotgun finally did the job. Slow trip to the Trader with all that loot. :-bd I think I agree with getting the good weapons a little later in the game.

Hey Guys,
I see everyone is doing alright :thumbright: Nice to be back here after one hour struggling to boot up the PC, lol.
Playboy magazines were previously intended for an "bribe" material for some Duty, etc, guys in exchange for some new Level Changers information. Then, I opened the level changers in a different way, currently after the Sakharov mission, you're getting them in bulk as a reward. (This also has been changed now in version 3.0)
Playboy maganizes now, after considering the work that had been spent to put them on DDS, I am leaving them as normal merchandise, you can sell them to traders and other Stalkers for 4000 RU, or maybe I should make them a bit more exepensive, in consideration that they are very rare and so are the women in the Zone, Stalkers can pay a lot to something that will remind them what a woman is. :mozilla_smile:

New weapons allocation points have been changed in the EXTREME mode, which will be in effect the "Professional" mode of this mod, and the other modes (though they are really hard, too) can be seen as some preparation for this XTR mode. dangers are more and more often, but the weapons come later... and the bullet ballistics/dynamics have been worked as to reflect a more realistic damage infliction. (not necessarily the same thing as what the player/NPCs get from their "immunity" paramaters.)

I have changed the "Helicopter and APC" attack arrangements, timing and behaviours, in Army Warehouses (Freedom HQ) point, -when you come to the door- and also the ferocity of those, as in effective in "all" modes (different than v2.4) and also still different between the v3.0 integral modes, like: "it'll be further different in EXTREME and non-XTR modes of the game."

Currently as it stands:
Non_EXT mode: 825 Mb (all 3 versions)
EXTREME_mode: 829 Mb

Thanks for all the advice guys. I have decided to rest at bar a little longer for things to reset again and this time i try and save Kruglov. If he dies on the way to Yantar due to something blocking his path then i will continue without him. He is too much trouble for me. This reminds me. Does this mean I have to kill whats his name that replaces Krug to stop that error in that place after the mission is completed or is only Kruglov effected?

Now seeing what Jamie's faction wars mod does I am all addicted to it but don't want to play on it alone. Of course with one of the mods that I thought I could use was NEWSA but the only thing I can not merge is the all.spawn. Guess I gotta try and merge it with another good mod like OL or something. Of course before I tried merging with NEWSA I backed up everything incase of problems.

I have done it! I have finally got Kruglov to Yantar!

Check the protection numbers, I think the military suit is slightly
better.

You need to shoot Kruglov (or Semenov if he spawns in place of Kruglov) after you've completed the "get the readings mission" and he reports to Sakharov, otherwise he is prone to get stuck on his path (vanilla problem ) after you 've left.

@ Balious dont worry about armour, by the time you get back to the lab/bunker after X16 you should have at least 7 suits (two of them being good) including the one you get as a reward for bringing back Ghosts suit to Sakharov (dont forget to take the mission)

a tip I had from NatVac regarding Fangs secret stash in Pripyat.
the stash contains a Exoskeleton PNB-4UZ and some mamas beads.
after clearing out the nasties in X16 and you drop down the hole in the floor, then go through the hole in the wall, you'll find a dead Stalker beside a fire with two snorks, search him,if you dont get the stash info the first time, save the game, reload then search him again, no info again? save the game,reload and search him.
one of the three times you search him will give you the stash info.
and dont forget about the armour dropping through the floor when you break the wooden crate, (I posted about it earlier)

Yup. Busetibi is right. Plenty of armor to go around.... I ran in my Stalker suit until I could afford my Nanosuit - but now I am seriously thinking of stashing it and picking out something a little less resilient. It's getting kind of boring (maybe it's the artifacts) not needing medkits or bandages.... :-??

update: Made a run from Skinflint up to the Priptyat changer via the road, then took the "back way" to sell Skinflint all these goodies - put 'em in my stash to show what I actually snagged:

... Except I would save first, then search.* If no "Fang's goodies", reload last save, the one made before you first searched the body.

balious, you have a chance of getting any secret still available to loner stalkers in Yantar, so you might need to "repeat until happy."

I'm pretty sure Mama's beads are intentionally the rarest artifact in vanilla SoC, even if you take Snitch up on his assassination assignment. There's only one in the open, and the only two secrets with Mama's beads are extremely hard to come by if you don't know the game's innards.

And that's hilarious on the empty armory! Looting through walls? Or cleaned out beforehand by sneaky :ymdevil: modder?

*That "save first" method should work on any version of STALKER. While that tip posted by busetibi may work in vanilla and NEWSA, mods based on bardak's bfa change this behavior so that you can only search a body once. -- Not counting the reload exploit. :)

However, I will "load, save, search" if I find that the earlier save results in one of fatrap's "cold" games, to help change the random number initialization. STALKER's Lua script engine, like the rest of the STALKER code, is quirky. (I can imagine Nightwatch nodding in agreement, then shaking his head ruefully.)

Thanks guys for the posts, I also lost my motherboard on top of the PSU, so now I am a share laptop so I can't answer longer at the moment, sorry about it.
