From what I've read, I'm nervous about trying Extreme. I always try the hardest difficulties, but, well...
OL 2.2 is a good mod but it's nothing compaired to OL.1.0, 2.2 seemed a dumbed down version (sorry Kany) to me, I really enjoyed 1.0 as the mutant attacks were relentless and posed a challenge and made me stop and think about how to get out of the crisis which sadly was lacking in 2.2.
EXTREME MODE is going to be hard, no question about it.
the much needed weapons are coming later than expected, but you will have the weapons to handle any given situation as long as you think about "what comes next", it's all about balance and thinking outside of the box.
A hyperthetical if I may.
you find an rpg with 4 rockets, you also have a Grozna NT with 10 rounds of Vog 25's,ten grenades and the gattling gun with over 1k of rounds.
you get attacked by two choppers and three APC's.
what do you use to elimante this threat?
normal course of action would be to take out the choppers with RPG rockets, one will not do it so you use two on each chopper, APC's, spam the shit out of them with VOG's, say at least three Vogs for each APC (so that's nine Vogs gone/used)
so you now have no rockets for the RPG and only one Vog25 left.

upon entering the new map you are faced with a chopper and two APC's.

so instead of using two rockets on the choppers, wouldn't it have been better to use one rocket then finishing it off with the gattling gun?
and instead of using the Vogs to kill the APC's wouldn't it have been better to use stealth and grenades to finish them off.
then when you enter the new map/area you have the ammo and weapons to meet the new challenge.

do not try and "Rambo" your way through this mod as you will fail, a thinking player will always win out.
